Question about Strong Idea Spion TC-317 Digital Camera

SPION MINIATURE CAMERA BATTERY REPLACEMENT

I have a tiny SPION camera that looks like a flash drive and measures 5/8"wide x 2 3/4" long... I have a good picture of it "together" and taken apart to show the battery... I will include the picture if I can find a way to attach it to this post.
I have the camera apart and the battery is exposed and is difficult to remove from either the top or bottom. I don't want to force it as I love this camera.
I can't find out anything about the mfg. or I would sent it to be repaired....

Can anyone help me with this battery problem?

Where can take my DSC-W1/W12 Battery door

I have several of these little Sony cameras and had the same problem with the battery door not latching on or locking up. If you want an easy fix, just look for your camera model number on Ebay and some sellers actually sell the complete battery door. You can also buy a For Parts Only camera with the same model number and use the battery door making sure it is intact of course? I doubt you can find or buy a battery door through Sony any more, a repair shop would charge an arm and a leg for such repair and that is if they even have extra parts for a camera that old?
I fixed one of mine by cutting two small pieces of a sewing needle, yes i know it souds corny and all but it worked. What usually breaks on these camera battery doors is 2 small tiny plastic tabs that that latch on to 2 tiny tabs attached to the camera body, when the door tabs break off theres no way the door can lock and so it just hangs open. I decided to measure 2 pieces of metal, more like rods from a needle and heated the tip and pierced through the battery door matching those tabs underneath. You do have to be very patient and careful with this as you don't want to miss the angle where the original tabs use to be. I did fix my camera even though you can see 2 tiny metal rod inserted through the battery door but it held up real good and still working.

The camera contacts where the battery seats, try cleaning with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol. If that fails you have an intermittent issue inside the camera itself. This is where a technician may be able to help because it will require skill working on such a miniature device.

My Kodak DX3900 also has the same problem - no power

The small coin battery is for keeping date and time settings while the camera is turned off and that half-AA-length battery is actually a large capacitor for the flash. Be careful, you can get an electrical shock (~250-300V).

If your camera stays on only for a few seconds, it should be either a battery or lens fault.

I have an Olympus C-765 for 5 years. Lately, the battery does not charge and in fact I cannot use the camera. How to know if the problem is with the battery or with the charger

1. Do not use ordinary batteries. Use rechargeable NiMH.

2. Measure battery voltage using tester or volt meter. 1.2 v for rechargeables.

3. Try measuring charger output.

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.

I had this problem also (see below).

After getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or on the body.

Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around 100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.

End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:

Use your USB cable or a Card Reader. Read your manual to insert Date on pictures. Note date will show on pic and cannot be removed.

Best idea is to downloand you pics asap and change each pic file name to embed date taken in filename, not on the pic itself.

I recomment the San Disk MobileMate SD+ miniature Card Reader for SD and MicroSD card reading. Just a little larger than a Flash Thumb Drive. Saves lugging around a USB camera cable and saves your camera power otherwise needed to power a download via a USB cable. About $15 at RadioShack, Staples, etc retail stores selling cameras.
