Need to know what color wire coming from motor itself and where they go.....wiring diagram on side only tells leg 1 and leg two and so on, but the wires coming from the motor are not attached to those...

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Part of your problem will be the snake has a reversing switch so it is not as simple as just wiring two line leads. I assume you have a DPDT switch for reversing it? If so line goes to the center posts/terminals, motor L1 and L2 go to one end, motor red and black to the other end, and a jumper crisscrosses from end to end allowing the reversing.

In essence, what has to happen is in one direction motor L1 and red get power from one line and motor L2 and black from the other; to reverse motor L1 and BLACK get power from one line and motor L2 and RED the other. All of this assumes you are connecting to 115VAC since that is the portion of the diagram you reference. If not, add a comment with what you are connecting to.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. You may also contact me thru our website at www.arrowpools.net. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

There should be a wiring diagram on the motor name plate. If it isn't there, there isn't much anyone can do, there are literally hundreds of different wiring methods for single phase motors.

Its best you log a case with HP support. If your system is still under warranty or if you bought support along with the system, they will fix the problem for you.

What is the correct wiring method when connecting 2 batteries to an 250 H.P. evenrude outboard motor using an Attwood 14230-3 four position switch.

Ground the two negative posts together. All grounds connect to the battery ground. Positive of one battery goes straight to post marked 1 on the switch. positive of other battery goes to post marked 2 on switch. Engine positive and all accessory positives should go to the "Common" post or bottom post of battery swith. Screw down your switch and happy boating!
