If it's telling you it can't verify the integrity of a specific file, google for the file - it's likely you'll find a download for the genuine file. Download it and replace it. If it doesn't let you replace it, restart in safe mode and try again.

How can I Install Sysinternals Suite with shortcuts in the startmenu ?

I have been using Sysinternals Process Explorer as an alternative to the Windows Task Manager for years now to end hung applications but I have always set this up manually into my own folder in Program Files.

I stumbled upon two great ways to automatically create a Program Files folder while browsing for an up-to-date Sysinternals Addon Builder to use with the RVM Integrator v1.6.1-b21 to add this to my boot CD.

Sadly the latest version by epsilon 3.6 fails on three of the add-ons as they have been moved and OR renamed since it was written you can still create a reduced add-on using this if you ignore these 3 files.

You can now do this much easier after the Windows Install by either downloading this INF file and placing it in the Sysinternals Suite download from HERE simply unzip it and then right click the INF file from explorer.

If you using the same ZIP file as above you can use use the excellent Dark Shadows SSIBuild v2.7 Sysinternals Installer Creator you will also need to download the Microsoft CABSDK and follow his instructions @ MFSN to ensure that you know what you are going to do.

NOTE: you will have to join MFSN to download his Sysinternals.ULZ update list to use with WUD that is normally used to download the latest XPSP3 post downloads for information you need to double click the file to add his list to the Windows Upadate Downloader download link for v2.50-b1000 available at this website.

When installed using your method of preference you will have this great set of applications fully installed and registered and available in the Programs Files folder, the Dark Shadow version will create nested folders and install all the associated help files as well I would use this one after your windows install and not try to slipstream it to your boot CD.

My laptop is on black screan its says BOOTMGR ms missing, press Ctrl+Alt+delete to start again, if am doing that its return into the same page , what can i do?

You could try a repair of xp this will keep your files.

1. Put your Windows XP Install CD into your CD-ROM drive.

2. Reboot your computer.

3. Let your system boot off of the CD.

4. Let the Setup go through the first part of the Installation procedure.

5. When you come to the screen in which it says "Welcome to Setup." press Enter to Setup Windows XP.

6. Press F8 to agree to the End User License.

7. Let the Setup search your system for previous versions of Windows.

8. When the Setup is finished searching your system, select your Windows XP Installation and press the R key on your keyboard to start the Repair Procedure.

This is the part that might make you nervous . The Setup will delete all major system files and then replace them with new copies.

You will have to download all of the updates from Microsoft Windows Update again because it replaces the files.
Thanks for using Fixya.
Good Luck and have a nice day.

How to install drivers in windows 98 SE loaded win98 in a new PC, need all updates, drivers, etc.

why win98se? I was a fan of win98se but ...

all drivers for winMe are ok.
use google with "MBcode win98se drivers download" . You may try with winme instead win98se . You'll encounter problems if your mb is very old and you need to properly install isa cards .

win98se,mb drivers, sound, video, lan in this order. dont forget that win98se accepts drivers from 95/98/ME . Them must have the inf file . I liked to made manual instalation of every drive (update driver, browse to location of inf file....).

I tried to download MS Paint from control panel/add/remove windows components but when i click on add/remove windows components a message appears stating that "SETUP WAS UNABLE TO OPEN INFORMATION FILE...

1. Open a cmd line
2. start
3. then click on run, type "cmd" in the box then ok.
4. When the cmd box pops up c:>
5. type: c:>\windows\inf\sysoc.inf
6. when the note pad window pops up scroll down till you see the line:

It would be wise to save the "TabletPC=tabletoc.dll,TabletSetupProc,Tabletpc.inf,HIDE,7" string to replace if anything goes wrong.

Just cut and paste in word etc and you can just paste it back in the sysoc notepad if anything weird happens, OR

7. Simply highlight this then delete it. Now hit save in the file option tab. Close the window and now you should have access to the change or delete files in the control panel..

if this works for you let me know

Hi, Look in your program files. R/click computer, R/click Local disc. Then right click program files. If the folder is there open it, reinstall office.
You can also go to search, type in ms office and see if the file is still installed.
If the file is gone you will have to reinstall using a ms office disc.

Msdos problem

thats cause you are running the wing 98 of the same hard drive that you are trying to format. What you need to do is create a boot disc. boot from that disc and then format.

you can also boot from a win 98 cd to format as well.. If you have problems doing that let me know and i can walk you through it :)
