Coleman powermate compressor wont start. It has always ran fine. Went out and the tank has no pressure. Everything looks Ok, but it wont start. Doesnt even make a sound. There is power at the plug in. ...

Two main things to check are the motor circuit breaker and pressure switch. Without knowing your model number I don't know exactly where to tell you to look but somewhere on the electric motor, or plastic housing if it's remotely mounted, there should be a reset switch/button. They are usually red or white, sometimes black. Push it in and see if the motor works. If the breaker keeps popping off there is something making the motor work too hard like bad bearings in the motor or pump, piston/cylinder issues, etc. To check the pressure switch, unplug the cord or turn off the circuit breaker. Remove the cover on the pressure switch and find the wires from the cord and motor. You can jump them on the switch (black to black & white to white) or disconnect them and connect the two black wires together and two white wires together. Turn on the power and if the motor turns on it's the switch if not it may be that your motor is burnt up inside. Don't let it continue to run like this because it will overfill the tank to dangerous levels without the pressure switch wired in.

Coleman POWERMATE Lo502710. Compressor runs and builds up pressure and then keeps on running even when 100 PSI. It will not shut off. I do not hear a leak when I pull the electric plug to make it stop...

There is a problem with your pressure switch. You should have a little black box with a red lever to turn your air compressor on and off. This housing contains your pressure switch, the pressure switch sends an electrical signal to the switch to make your air compressor run. When enough pressure builds up the pressure switch activates, and breaks the signal until the pressure drops below a certain point. I will do some more research on your compressor and find out which pressure switch you need to order. i need you to find any numbers on the compressor you can, serial number, model, stock number, anything you can to help me find the part number.
Thank you for patience,

Need to know how the wires go on a kobalt 230 volt air copressor

When looking at the switch it self, There will be 4 contacts. On the switch 2 will be labeled Line (Power in) and 2 will be labeled Motor (power out to motor) . Hook the black and white wires from the power cord to the line side (Either contact, it does not matter). Hook the 2 black and white wires from the motor to the contacts labeled Motor on the switch. The remaining 2 green wires (one from the motor and one from the cord) are to be grounded to the case on the switch.

I have a Coalman Powermate 6.5 Hp 60 gal. compressor model C650C600VIB103. I want to know to connect the elect. cord correctly.

Does the unit have a starter or just a pressure switch , if just a pressure switch it should be marked with line and motor , the wires on the motor should go to the motor terminal and the line terminals are the power supply , if the unit is 110 volts make sure you put the wires on by color , the white wire goes to the motors white wire and the black to the motors black wire , if this is 220 volts it does not matter which wire connects just put the two black wires on the line terminals. One wire per terminals please.

Need instruction book for coleman powermate clean 1500

The hose connection I believe is for hooking a hose up and running it into a bottle of cleaner. The cleaner is mixed with the water when it is sprayed, The knob on the bottom adjusts the strenght of the solution. Most washers have the same setup.

Coleman Powermate Model Number BV6548049, pressure switch leak.

Usually, a leak at the pressure switch unloader valve is caused by the checkvalve in the tank. The unloader valve at the pressure switch bleeds out the air from discharge tube after compressor reaches set pressure. This only takes a few seconds. If air continues to leak then air is leaking back into the discharge tube past the tank checkvalve. Follow the air discharge line from the compressor to the brass valve at the tank. The brass valve is the checkvalve that holds the pressure in the tank. There are usually two connections at this valve. One is the unloader tube to the pressure switch. Simple test for leaking checkvalve, with pressure in tank unplug or switch off the compressor and remove the small unloader line at the checkvalve(brass valve) and look/listen for leak. If leaking, remove the checkvalve and examine seat/check for debris keeping the valve slightly open. If it cannot be cleaned, order generic replacement from www.grainger.com. It will cost less than the factory checkvalve. Just pay attention to the thread sizes for easy fit. Good Luck on your repair and email if you have questions.
