I shorted out my serger at the light bulb...forgot to turn the power off...serger now doesn't work at all. Is there a reset button somewhere or have I wrecked my serger?

Are you sure you have electric power at the outlet? If not
check circuit breaker box for a "popped" breaker. " Usually"
the light bypasses the machine controls so it should be ok.

Circut board trips electricty board

Treadmills are machines with a considerable pull of electricity. Make sure you are operating on a dedicated circuit.

Most users have the machine plugged into a spare bedroom outlet ehich is either not dedicate (power source spread out to more then one outlet) or is a GFI outlet (Ground Fault Indicator).

These outlets are used so homeowners do not overload an outlet in an area where a resident will sleep and be in danger of a fore or death.

Usually in the first few pages of your owners manual it will give you the requirements for your machine.

You can run an extension cord to another room with a dedicated outlet, but the extension cord does not transmit all the power coming out of the outlet and will eventually lead to other issues, usually electrical issues within the machine.

You can use a multimeter to see what else could be the issue with your outlet, but will want to consider having an electrician put in a dedicated outlet.

My washer keep shorting out why is this

It may be the motor, transmission, or both. If these are shot on your washing machine, the result may be an electrical burning smell. Both are necessary to run your washing machine and can be costly to repair. The first thing to do if you notice an "electrical" smell in your washing machine and not a "rubber" burning smell, is to unplug the machine and call the manufacturer or a repairperson.

An electrical burning smell may also be caused by a water leak coming into contact with electrical wiring. Both are major concerns and should be addressed immediately. A water leak can cause structural damage in your home and can short out the electrical wiring in your washer and cause additional damage to the machine.

Another more likely cause of a burning smell in your washer is overloading. Adding too many clothes to your washing machine can stress the motor or transmission, causing them to overheat or malfunction and emit a burning smell.
If the washing machine is old (15 - 20 years) you could have nuisance tripping on aGFCI outlet, however that doesn't mean you get rid of the protection of the outlet, it means you probably should consider replacing the washing machine for a newer model.

Washer will not run power to the outlet but buttons do not work

Sounds like your motor controller is faulty Does your machine light up any buttons or if you have the display model, does the LCD display turn on? Is you machine completely dead, no lights no sounds? If it is first check the power point with a toaster or hairdryer just to be 100% sure it is not the power point. Now the two things that cause the machine not to power up are --1-- the motor controller is faulty or the drain pump is faulty. If you have an electrical test meter or can borrow one I can guide you throe to isolate the faulty part. Please reply for further assistance .

This Model likes to shoot electrical sparks between the plug and wall outlet when plugging in. I'm afraid I'm going to burn out an outlet.

This sounds might hazardous! Worry less about burning out an outlet, and more about the risk of electrocuting yourself!
There's an electrical short-circuit somewhere, and the first place to look is the flex. Flex often gets damaged, usually just where it leaves the plug or where it enters the machine, especially if it's been pulled a lot. Damage is not always visible externally. I'd get it looked at by someone competent to deal with electrics. Better safe than sorry!

Jura capresso shuts down

It is possible that the timer unit in the maker is defective and need to be replaced. I would suggest you move the coffee maker to a different outlet and see if you have the same problem. If there is a short in the mechanism or a bad connection in the timer it could be experiencing a thermal shutdown.

Appliances that cycle power, fridges, freezers, espresso machines...tend to trip GFCI outlets. Not a problem with the machine.
