It truly sounds as if the temp control panel has failed. Could be a contact in the temp control button. I am basing this on the fact that everything else is working correctly. You can usally find an inexpensive one through Car-Part.com or Ebay.

Sorry no solution but that is my problem also. All the posts I find bang on about the fridge side but I am not convinced as why is it affecting both sides? I have taken apart the fridge side and defrosted it. Yes there was a build up of ice but by the amount it has been like that for a long time and not caused the problem I now have. I also changed the temp and fuse here, no difference. Why if the problem is with one side does the other not still work? Now thinking the power cut we had that preceded this problem has blown something on the circuit board. I'll keep looking

My ac when on blows hot on passenger and cold on driver,we have already changed compressor, dryer, cabin filter, actuator, freon, and cleaned the lines

does this car have dual temp controls so the temp can be different then what the other side is set at.if so you could have a temp door motor for the passenger side that is not working and needs replacing.if the a/c blew cold on the drivers side then you have done alot of unnecessary work and expense as this should have told you the a/c system was working okay as far as what you have replaced.check to see if the air temp door(motor) is the problem for the passenger side.

Hello and welcome. this is caused by a bad temp door actuator for the drivers side temp door. it is stuck on cold. the temp door actuator will need to be replaced to repair this concern. here is a picture. it is mounted to the drivers side of heater a/c case, behinde the dash.

Try this:
Temperature Adjustment
• After 24 hours, adjust the controls as needed. Adjust temperature gradually: push the button in small increments,
allowing the temperature to stabilize.
• Press the button(Freezer Temp or Fridge Temp) repeatedly until the desired set temper.
• For lower temperature, press the button(Freezer Temp or Fridge Temp) towards coldest.
• For higher temperature, press the button(Freezer Temp or Fridge Temp) towards cold.

Both freezer and refrigerator temp variations

in most refridgerator cabins is a air dam at top right of side by side and it could be sticking open and working other times or it could get stuck in defrost cycle due to defrost timer not working properly.defrost timer would be first thing to look to.

Kenmore Side by Side Refrigerator, freezer doesn't work, refrigerator works

Unless specifically made for use in a garage most units won't work properly. The owners manual should say what the temp range for proper operation is (usually 55F is the low range). This is because the refrigerator section doesn't need to be "cooling" to maintain 37F if the temps on the outside are below 55F. These things are made to work in a 70F room and will not work properly if under 55F. Stupid thing thinks it's cold enough so it will never turn on, the refer section will stay cold/cool due to outside temps but since the compressor never runs the freezer will just be the same temp as the refer section (at best). Sorry, but in order for a freezer or refrigerator to work in an unheated space it must have the temp control device controling the freezer section NOT the fresh food section. In other words, that model will not work in a garage unless the temps are above 55F always.
