Question about Brother DCP-330C All-In-One InkJet Printer

Brother 7020 jamming every single time with aftermarket toner

I've been using the Brother toner that the machine came with for several years. I've had absolutely no problems with the printer. It's never jammed once. When the toner finally ran out, I went to Canada Computers with the intention to buy only Brother brand toner. But the guy there assured me Ican aftermarket toner would work just as well. At first, it printed leaving a second, ghostly image halfway down the page. Now it won't print at all. It jams every single time. I worried I didn't install it properly, but I did get it to print, so I doubt that's the problem. Any way to salvage this toner? Will cleaning it help (and, if so, how do I do this)? Will using it harm my printer? Any tips or tricks? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy the Brother brand toner? Thanks in advance for your help!

SOURCE: PAPER JAMS CONSTANTLY

Well, it might be theres something stuck in there. Pick it up and give it a few shakes. I work on printers, and not too long ago I found a wedding ring, paperclip, banana sticker and other things in printers. If that doesn't work, try going to staples and getting a laser cleaner kit. They're basically sheets coated to pick up any paper dust, or bits of paper that might be clogging the path

SOURCE: Brother 5250 DN Paper Jams

You problem is actually in the pick-up roller and separation pad areas. the paper is delaying and not making it through to the next check point in the machine fast enough.

1st
Take it by your closest Brother Service Outlet. They're in the phonebook under "Computer Service & Repair". It's a cheap fix but requires parts.

2nd
Use good paper. Paying a little more for paper will save you a lot over time in repairs and premature toner and drum failures. Brother printers are really finicky about paper quality. Recommend "HP Office" brand paper as a minimum. It's a known good paper for general everyday printing and won't break the bank.

SOURCE: Brother MFC 1950MC thermal ribbon fax machine

We have been using two of these relics at our office since 1993, as they have worked with no problems and have served our needs well. As a side note they were free gifts from Sprint for being a "valued" customer lol . Anyway, both cartridges went out at about the same time so I ran out and picked up two PC-101 cartridges. After replacing them, one of the machines won't print at all and the other prints on the right side only. Also each machine makes a scratching noise when it prints(or trys to print!) I think the issue is really tollerences in the cartridges as i can't believe the odds of two machines having isuues at the same time. I read the posts above and decided to fix it this way:

Take a narrow piece of foam(about a 1 inch thick), place it on top of the silver bar. Close the lid and tape it shut with some good packing tape. I made a criss-cross patern

Problem solved!!

SOURCE: Paper jams 1/2 way through drum/cartridge. Jams

Take the toner cartrige out, look around with a flashlight for a piece of paper or something that could jam the works. Check the movable tab that comes out of the front of the machine to hold paper up, maybe it has gotten crooked or something. Don't have anything in front of the machine to block the paper coming out. A can of compressed air can be used to blow the machine out.

Where is the toner sensor on the toner holder in the DCP-7020 it keeps telling me toner is empty and toner should not be empty yet.

If you look at your toner cartridge you should be able to see a clear plastic circle. That's part of the toner level mechanism. I've gotten a few more prints out of my cartridges by putting a piece of tape over the clear plastic and coloring it black with a sharpie. However, there are other mechanisms used to gauge toner levels, and this will not be a permanent fix.

I've also gotten a little more life out of it by simply shaking the toner cartridge for about 15 minutes. It helps coat the inside and might break up chunks inside the cartridge itself.

Brother DCP-7020 Paper Jam, we keep having the paper jam at the paper exit at the top/back of machine. I've examined closely from front, back, bottom, even removing a few easily removed parts, but can...

This is caused by dirty exit roller. As this machine is a pain to dismantle I suggest that you try and clean these rollers ( 3 or 4 rubber small ) as they rotate. Opening and closing the front door will keep rotating them for you. Use a damp wrm water lint free cloth. I use a compound named Print Clean but metho can be used also.

Laser Printer Brother DCP-7020

If you open the front cover you will have a grey/black part which is easily removed from the machine. This is the toner/drum package, where the grey part is the drum unit. If you look on the right side on the part of the toner/drum package that would go furthest into the machine, you'll see the corona cleaner, which you should move among the line (left to right) 7-8 times or similar. This should clean the corona wire and solve the problem.
Just put the corona cleaner back to where it started and re-insert the toner/drum package into the machine again.

My suggestion is to take the printer to the highest floor in your building open a window and see if it can fly. or just use it as a $200 paper weight because after 3 months it has been to the shop 3 times and still is not working they way it should. Bad equipment bad support, and just plain bad product all around.
