I have been analyzing the problem and think it may be the speed control governor...it is a 5.5HP Stanley pressure washer PW6655 not sure if the govenor is pneumatic or mechanical as yet as I do not know who makes their engine i.e. Briggs and Stratton, honda etc....but when the pump is under load (pressure cleaning) the motor stalls...it is like the motor cannot keep up the RPM under load.....

I suspect that the jet in the carb is partially clogged and it can't get enough fuel to handle the load and pressure.
try cleaning to the carb and see what happens.

Remove the hose and run the machine. If the machine works and the flow of water is ok. Start checking the hose for a restriction and trigger. Make sure this is correct before you start taking the pump to bits

Engine hesitste and stalls

The engine has a "cold start sequence" This is triggered by a water temperature sensor and some models use 2 with one working the engine controls and the other operating the dash gauge.

The signal sets the fuel mix rich and modifies the timing until the engine warms up. It sounds like your engine is not resetting from a warm condition.

PWER WASHER RUNS PERFECT, WHEN WATER COMES ON, IT STALLS. BUT IF YOU PULL TRIGGER BACK ON WAND, THEN SPRAYER WORKS. THE MINUTE YOU LET GO OF TRIGGER, IT STALLS OUT.

hi you have got a fault with the unloader it's not unloading so its going a bove the 13amps and knocking the thermol overload out or blowing a fuse you could cable tie the trigger open or get a new unloader kit costing about £70.00 regards

Engine stalls when I release the wand handle (stop water flow from wand).

this is because the pressure is wound up too high ,if you back the pressure off abit you will solve the problem. if your machine has a pressure gauge ,you will be able to see the pressure needle"spike" when you release the trigger.that is the needle jumps right up high that is when motor stalls if you adjust the pressureso that the "spiking" effect is minimal your machine will not stall ,..I hope that helps

Pressure washer stalls out when wand nozzle is released

common for not starting unless trigger engaged as you are turning the pump as well as engine creating pressure,as for stalling pump has unloader valve which is probably in need of grease(use good silicone grease)this allows water to ciculate when trigger released.
