Wd51 drying not heating

there are a few things that can cause the dryer to not heat there is a one time thermal fuse that can blow causing the heating element to not function . one cause of this thermal fuse to blow (in this case heat) would be the lint in the dryer vent tube it clogs the tube then the heat builds up by the heating element and blows the resistor this is very common . One other problem that can occur is the heating element could get burnt out and short out .after some years of use the wire come out of its normal shape and move around and eventually touch the side of the metal housing causing the element to open or break. you can check out this site and put in your model number and find the thermal fuse kit should cost around 22$ the heating element can be from 60 -180$ depending on what type of dryer you have

Thermal fuse blown on kenmore dryer what is the cause

The thermal fuse blows when the vent gets restricted and builds up too much heat. After it gets to a certain point the thermal fuse blows. Clean out the vent, keep the lint trap clean, and hopefully your problems will go away.

Dryer had built up lint, blew fuse, now will blow fuse after cleaning and replacing vent hose

if its heated electrically, not by gas, then it sounds like the heating element has shorted to the case and this would blow the breaker

Dryer runs but will not heat. Replaced fuse and

your cycling thermostat needs changed too. the thermal fuse is your last safety measure that goes, which means your cycling thermostat is not shutting down the heat element once it detects the right temp hot air in the blower housing so it let the heat element glow until either the high-limit sensor shuts the heat down or the thermal fuse blows. Change the cycling thermostat and good luck

Dryer doesnt work but i hear the timer working

Change your cycling thermostat. When your cycling thermostat fails, then the reponsibility of your heating element to shut down goes to the high-limit thermal shut off (closest to heat element) and the thermal fuse. Your cycling thermostat should shut down heat element when it detects about 140* air in the blower housing. Yours can't detect that anymore so it lets your dryer heat up and up till you blow the thermal. new cycling thermostat and thermal

Blwoing cold air

Possibly, A thermal fuse located in the heater element circut could burn out. the CIrcut would show full voltage to the element but no heat out. Often there is also an auto reset high limit swich this could be out also opr instead of the fuse. THE FUSE IS ALWAYS LOCATED WHERE IT CAN "SEE" the elements. I E Inside the case where the elements are.
