your car should have a spare key taped to the steering column under the dash.....so, look for black electrical tape wound up around the steering post and unwind the tape....you should find a spare key there
i believe all you need to do is unplug it or take it out of answer mode. keep in mind you have to unplug the phone line as well as it will get power from it.
Your camcorder needs to be cleaned and or serviced ASAP. Please do not use any more tapes, as you may have a stuck roller head or sticky contact surfaces that can "catch" the tapes intermittently.
You should be able to have it serviced very cheaply at a camera store, but I would not use it any further for danger of potentially ruining the camera.
This is what I NEED is a solution to this problem---THERE IS A CASSETTE TAPE STUCK IN A CAR STERO. The cassette player will not eject the tape. Does anyone have any ANSWERS?
I've been researching this for hours. I have the same problem. Took it to a repair shop today that would charge me $250 to replace the whole tape mechanism. Finally, I tried the whack trick. I gave the camera a good firm smack on the right side, and voila, now it works! I'm going to tranfer everything to DVD ASAP!
you posted 2 different problems here... to answer this one ". The tape is stuck, won't eject and I'd like to get it out without damaging the VCR unit."...open unit, find motor that moves tape ejector and spin that motor by hand (power off)
the other problem, "the VCR will not insert a tape. It keeps rejecting it."...open unit and fully turn ejection motor until home position is reached...this is a home sensor switch not being activated.
