S/rf is too high on transmit on my cobra 29 ltd bt

no matter what s/rf you are looking at it should not key much beyond an s-9 . vr 3 controls the meter. Key the mic and adjust it to s-9 then check you modulation. If you still think you need more then adjust vr 4 .

Galaxy DX 98VHP meter stopped moving . There is no swr reading, nothing. Even with a seperatye meter atached or a dummy load, the meter on the galxy is not working. Did I lose all power?

You appear to be aware of you antenna system with the separate meter attached so the tells me you dont punish a radio with an high swr. I am just guessing red wire/solder in mic cord at plug given that it is a side mic mic jack.
Stock mic
1- Shield (Ground)
2- Yellow (Audio)
3- Red (Transmit)
4- White (Receive)

Konica minolta bizhub 500 has malfunction : c-3902. i tried powering off and unplugging...no help... now what?

This is a fusing unit problem. Specifically TH@ also known as Thermister 2 is not detecting tempurature the same as TH1. Here is the quote directly from the service manual:
Inferior contact of the thermistor
/2 (TH2)
While in the warm-up condition,
when the thermistor /1 (TH1)
detection temperature gets to the
Ready temperature before the
TH2 detection temperature, the
TH2 detection temperature does
not get to the Ready temperature
a specified period of time after
the TH1 detection temperature
got to the Ready temperature.

Basically what you are going to need is a service tech to come out and replace TH2.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

The dryer turns on and runs, but it is not heating up...

The problem is either the Safety Thermostat TH2, High-Limit Thermostat TH3, or the Heating Element itself. Here's what you should do find which among is the culprit.

Use a putty knife blade or similar tool to push and release the clips holding the top panel to the front panel. Insert the putty knife between the top panel and the front panel as shown at about 2 and 3/4 inches from the edges then push in until the clips are released then lift the top panel off.

Open the door then remove the two screws at the bottom of the door opening as shown.

Remove the two screws from the upper side of the front panel then pull the panel out and disconnect the Door Switch connector.

Once the front panel is removed, you'll see the Heater Box at the bottom right hand side of the cabinet. Remove the cover and you'll see three sets of the terminals on the left side of the Heater Box. The set of three terminals is the Heating Element, the middle set is the Safety Thermostat TH2, while last set is High-Limit Thermostat TH3.

Using a multimeter, set to the lowest Ohm scale (R X 1), check the continuity of the Safety Thermostat TH2 and High-Limit Thermostat TH3 then the resistance between the middle terminal of the Heating Element and the other two terminals.

The Safety Thermostat TH2 and the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 are both normally closed and any discontinuity (open circuit) found indicates that the component has failed. It is necessary to replace both the Safety Thermostat TH2 and the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 if one of them has failed. The Safety Thermostat TH2 is likely to fail as a result of the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 failure.

The normal resistance between the middle terminal (2) and the upper terminal (1) is 18 ohms to 22 ohms while between the middle terminal (2) and the lower terminal (3) is 9 ohms to 11 ohms. Replace the Heating Element if an infinite resistance (open circuit)reading is obtained in any the measurements.

You may take the Heating Element out then thoroughly check it visually for any obvious coil discontinuity if you don't have a the meter to check the continuity of Safety Thermostat TH2 and the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 and the resistance of the Heating Element. It will be obvious if the Heating Element has a broken coil.

The problem lies in either of the Safety Thermostat TH2 or the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 if the Heating Element coils is intact. Bypass both the Safety Thermostat TH2 and the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 then reconnect the Door Switch connector. Run the dryer and it should heat by now to indicate that either the Safety Thermostat TH2 or the High-Limit Thermostat TH3. Otherwise, it is a totally different story. Please let us know if that is the case.

Warning! Do not use the dryer with the Safety Thermostat TH2 and the High-Limit Thermostat TH3 bypassed due to fire hazards.

I've got a Midland Model-1000 CB connected to a Firestick II 3ft antenna. I can hear people loud and clear AND almost pegging the meter. I've tried to get a MIC check and I get no reply, believing the...

Could be your mic.. is it an amplified mic that has a battery in it? or a non... try replacing the mic or if it has a battery in it you probably have a dead battery that needs to be replaced..

We just replaced the battery and it worked fine

Use a meter to confirm whether the battery is still working. The meter should read around 12-13 VDC if the battery is good. The 12 Volt Peg Perego battery is made with 2 6 volt batteries connected in series. Maybe the connection broke when the battery fell out. Check the connection and also check with a meter if either battery is pumping out 6 volts.

Cb is Keying Down instead of keying up when trying to talk

if you are transmitting fine Don't worry about the meter. Get an external SWR meter, they are better anyway.

Also, make sure the the switch next to the meter is all the way up on s/rf setting. thats for signal power and receive strength.

When I key the radio the meter pegs in s/rf mode.

there is a pot inside the radio to adjust the meter. if the meter did not come from the same type radio then most likely it is not the right one all meters are not the same there is also a resister that jumps across the terminals of the meter that needs to be there to keep the meter from banging the side when you key the mic.

Cobra 29 ltd modulation problen

You need to check the modulation on a modulation meter. Just because the meter doesn't peg, doesn't mean the modulation isn't working. Usally a meter pegging, means the swr's are too high or the meter is misadjusted. If in fact the modulation is low, their is a pot inside the radio (VR4) that will add gain to the modulation circuit. This setting is legally supose to be set by a qualified technician.
