Question about Masterbuilt 20070106 Electric Smoker
Doing initial burn in and unit shows ERR1 error code and shuts down. Unplug for 10 seconds as manual specifies to reset control board but does not resolve the problem.
ERR1 MEANS YOU NEED A NEW BODY KIT. PER MASTERBUILT, THE SMOKER IS DEAD AND NEEDS A FULL BODY KIT (BASICALLY THE ENTIRE UNIT)

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
It is telling you that the temp is below 40 degrees F. All you need to do is warm up the temp probe to 40F and it should work just fine. Use a hand held hair dryer or a warmed up shop vac on b.l.o.w to warm it up.
Happy New Year,

certified technician to replace the or adjust the sensor or Thermistor unit.
However, since you just purchased this I will assume that it is either a defective
unit from manufacturer, or the company who rebuilt it did not properly ensure
it was working. Return it and demand a replacement in EITHER case!! J
