Air opertes but locks up under load

Sounds like you might have a problem with the hammer (clutch) mechanism, these types of impacts are direct drive there a re no gears, so the hammer (clutch) mechanism must have the ability to splip after impacting to allow the air motor to turn. Disassemble and look for broken hammer pins, hammer dogs.

No power and just blows air

The problem stated could be in one of two places.
1st the hammer mechanism, symptom when trying to loosen or tighten a nut the tool locks up. Disassemble and and check components for wear or broken parts..
2nd under a no load condition, depressing the trigger and only air blows through the exhaust could be a combination of hammer and motor. Also must inspect the anvil bushing (item #19) located in the hammer case, they have a tendency to slide out of place and binding the mechanism as a whole, then check air motor for scarred a
endplate (item # 12) cylinder (item# 9, damaged vanes (item# 11)

Motor operates but drill has no power forward, only reverse.

you have a problem with the switch or the reversing lever. If you go to take it apart use caution that you do not disassemble the gear mechanism, you can find a breakdown and buy parts from them direct or they also have a locator at makitausa.com. I would look at the breakdown before trying to disassemble.

Hi, Recently purchased a factory rebuilt 11255vsr and have put it to hard use. I'm noticing oil on the bit shanks, high heat @ front end, louder and louder noise. Nothing critical yet, but I hear it...

Here goes, the only real problem with disassembly is removing the shift selector, but first remove the bit lock mechanism, the dust shield pulls off and then you will find a retainer under that remove these and put them in toe order removed or take some pics to help later in reassembly. Removing the selector what you have to do is turn it to the hammer position and then depress the plunger all the way and turn it past the hammer cog, this will release the tabs that lock it in. As far as grease they make a special lube for the gears inside this tool. The wear items would be the armature/gear. To check for this before disassembly run the tool NO LOAD in forward and listen, then reverse the rotation and do the same, if is quieter that is where I would start to look. The screws holding the gearcase on are T20 torx. I would suggest going to "ereplacementparts.com" and downloading a schematic so you know what you are getting into.

My cp772h is running low on power. I am unable to loosen bolts that I tightened on lower setting

The biggest problem I have seen with these is the hammer mechanism.Remove the front of the tool and disassemble hammers.Clean them good with solvent and using a paint brush re coat then with a special hammer grease that can be purchased at a local tool repair and supply store. Also check fwd and reverse seals while you have it apart.Check motor veins for wear.Check inlet screen and exhaust for debris.

Cannot load staples

At the back of the staple gun is a flat shaped metal piece. It's at the bottom. Push in, pull down, then pull the mechanism out. You'll see it's a metal rod with a spring, that is attached to that flat metal piece. The spring pushes against another flat metal piece, that has a hole in it, and travels back, and forth on the rod.

The flat metal piece that the spring pushes down the rod, pushes against the staples.

Remove this spring mechanism, slide the staples down the rails. The staples will be in the position of an upside down U. Replace the spring mechanism, and lock it back into place. (Push in, pull up)

Should, your question be in reference to the fact that you have staples loaded, but upon pressing the trigger nothing comes out:

In the front of the staple gun, is a flat metal piece that pushes down on the staples. One staple at a time. The flat metal piece is shoved down by spring pressure. The spring pressure is applied to the flat metal piece each time you squeeze the trigger. (Flat metal piece = Hammer)

Sometimes, Two staples try to come out. When they do, this flat metal hammer is stuck up in the gun. To free the flat metal hammer, remove the spring mechanism out of the back of the staple gun. (The spring mechanism discussed above) Remove any staples in the gun.
Try to use a flat blade screwdriver, and see if you can shove the flat metal hammer in the front of the gun -> UP.
(DO NOT have the staple gun pointing at your face! DO NOT squeeze the trigger! DO NOT use excessive force)

If this method is of no avail for you, you have to disassemble the gun, and remove the metal hammer, and stuck staple/s.
