Question about Cannon Office Equipment & Supplies
I need to replace a pickup roller and the service manual indicates a process to get the arm it's on to rotate providing access. You need to get into service mode to do this. When I try *28* it just beeps when I hit the * key. That said, it does need yellow toner (customer doesn't have any and is content printing without it). Would that need keep it from going into service mode using *28* or on this model is there another way to get there?

take out all toners and pc drum, use pressure air to clean chip reader under the toner rack (right side) also use some alcohol to clean chips on toners and reinstall.

The tray two pickup roller is a roller in the front of the tray. Remove tray 2 and place it on a level work surface. Locate and open the cover that is
next to the roller in tray 2.
Pinch the blue latch that is on the left side of the roller. Slide the roller off of the shaft.
Then you can slide the new roller back in.
CAUTION When you install this roller, make sure that it locks into place. Verify that the
roller is correctly oriented, and that the round, black spacer next to the roller is correctly
positioned against the locking pin on the shaft.

Well, how to do that I don't know how to explain you, but first of all try to clean it, do it with thinner, this may solve your problem for while, at least until you find a way to remove and change.
