Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

I have a HP laserjet P2015. I want to run some Agfa Laserlink film through, to create film positives, but need to adjust the fuser temperature and toner level. Could you tell me how to achieve that on this machine, as well as any recommended settings you be aware of in this regard.

    Dear Kamal,

I have scoured this manual, but cannot find any reference to the altering of the toner levels or fuser temperature settings. It is possible that these are not an option on this machine, but I need somebody with the technical background to confirm this -like yourself.

For fuser temperature , do this -- In your printer driver, make sure the appropriate media type is selected.
For this to perform do this ..
Consider the "media type " mentioned below is your Agfa Laserlink Film..
1. Open the straight-through output door 2. Open tray 1 and adjust the media guides to the width of the media 3. Load media in tray 1. Make sure that the top of the media is forward and the side to be printed on is facing up4. Open the printer properties 5.On the Paper/Quality tab or the Paper tab (the Paper Type/Quality tab for some Mac drivers), choose the correct media type. 6. Print the Document and remove the media from the printer.

Toner : -
1. If toner smears appear on the leading edges of the media , the media guides may become dirty.so wipe the media guides with a neat clean and dry lint-free cloth . 2.Setup your HP ToolBoxFX alerts for low toner levels...
U can defnitely run your Agfa Laserlink film throgh this printer...
this will definitely solve your problem.

How do I adjust darkness (density level) on an hp P2015

According the the HP site you have to download and install "toolboxfx" to have that ability. It only runs on Windows XP or Vista, so if you're like me and have a Mac, you're SOL. :-( The things we learn AFTER we buy the product!

Verticle lines printing on laser printer

Check the fuser. If it is the fuser, you should be seeing 3 dark lines on the fuser film. Here is the picture about how the film looks like:

Changing the film usually solve the problem. However changing the film itself is difficult. You have to remove and basically disasseble the fuser, and change the film. However it is fairly cheap and if you decide you would like to save some money, here is the link available in ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Fuser-Film-Sleeve-HP-LaserJet-P3005-RM1-3740-/250558576965?cmd=ViewItem&pt=BI_Toner&hash=item3a56747945

Or, simply search for 'P3005 Fuser Film' and you will find a lot.

Other than that, you can change the entire fuser. Please note that fuser for P3005 is not consumer installable part. You still have to take out some parts in order to change the fuser.

The parts are available from many parts supplier. Simply google 'P3005 fuser'. Usually around $100 for a refurbished fuser.

You can also recycle your old fuser and get some moeny! (about $15-$25 per fuser).

Good luck!

HP P2015 Intermittent paper jam lite on solid.

Remove the covers and thoroughly clean the inside of your printer. Vacuum it out and wipe it down. Then examine the sensors and their wiring connectors. Intermittent problems are difficult at best. I suspect a thorough cleaning will eliminate it.

On anything other than plain printer paper, the ink tends to rub off the printed page - really a problem with labels and envelopes. I have tried changing the printer settings for these items, but it does...

You may need a shop to increase the fuser temperature. You also may just need a new fuser. In printing preferences you need to make sure you're telling the printer you're using envelopes or labels. When the toner rubs off, the fuser is just not hot enough.

Repetitive paper jam in the fuser area in a LaserJet P3005dn

Your lower press roller in the fuser may not be turning all of the time since it is driven by the upper film. Rough them up with Scotch Brite Pads

My printer is printing a line down all of my letters and I have tried to clean it and it's still doing it.

Change the toner cartridge. If that does not solve the problem, you'll need a new fuser unit.

HP LJ P2015DN making noise/squeaking

Hi,
As you mentioned that the printer makes loud grinding noise or squeaking when page comes out than i feel this is the noise coming out due to faulty fuser.
I want to be sure so please open the rear bin and try to print if still noise comes than i m sure it is fuser.
If there are smudges on the printed page or if some film coating is coming out with printed page than fuser roller are physically damage.
However in this case i assume fuser is faulty.
If there opening the rear bin noise goes off than top output rollers are faulty.

Thanks and Regards
