You require either a rescue disk, made by that machine or a new Vista OS disc. Running XP will not work as there are no specific drivers for the mother board because XP doesn't support a machine that is so new comparatively speaking.
You cannot uninstall Windows Vista,
but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then
replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall
your old operating system, you must have the original installation
disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into
your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain
the hard disk space used by Windows Vista,
reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling
your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.

You may want to consider upgrading rather than downgrading.
You can try booting in the safemode to see whether the default administrator account is enabled. If it is there then log on to the administrator account and changed the password for the account.
If the administrator account is not enabled then you should have the Vista disc to do system restore. Boot the computer from the Windows VIsta disc.. when you see the setup screen look for Repair your computer link at the left bottom corner. Click that follow the instruction to do system restore.
IF you dont have the vista disc call you Acer support to find how to boot in to Win RE
see if there are any drivers in XP for this model to start- if there are not- you are NOT able to convert it back to XP at ALL. Check with acer's tech support to see if it is possible to get drivers or if it is possible to convert it back to xp. Good luck- I'm seeing this problem a lot at the moment and the manufacturers do not care about people that hate vista.
