SOURCE: Specs for Ported Box for 2 12" MA AUDIO HK12X2 Subs

Hello joseph_delac,

MA Audio's website has the recommended box volume and port size online here. A ported enclosure needs 3.0 CuFt of internal volume and the port should be 48 sq/in and 14.5" in length. A 4X12" rectangular port would give you the recommended 48 sq/in. Using 3/4" MDF, a box 16X18X25 has an internal volume of 3.25 CuFt allowing .25 CuFt for the sub and port displacement.

Hope this helps.

I need to know what the recommended box spec for a audio Bahn dJones special edition 15 woofer 500 watts is trying to build a box for it

These subs are the (AW1251SE). Go to the Audiobahn website and look up the specs. I have included a hyperlink that will take you to the correct page. Find the model number and download the PDF. Inside the PDF file it will have every parameter listed, I already looked at it and made sure. It also has different enclosure options and gives the specs for each one.

The subs are good overall depending what kind of amp you are using. I personally use a ported box for all audiobahn subs.

What type of enclosure for audio bahn aw1000x

I used to be an Audiobahn dealer and can help you with the box. However I can't find specs on that model in my records or on Audiobahn's website. If you email me (dynami28@charter.net) the Theile Small parameters for the subs I can give you more exact specs. The box should be ported (Audiobahn doesn't recomend a sealded box) with about 2.5 cubic feet, made of 3/4" MDF. Here are some generic specs that should go well with that particular sub.

Air Space (Cu. Ft.) 2.4

Port Size (Inches) 4 x 6.25

Tune Freq. (Hz) 39

I need help

Put this in google -- ported box software

Now, you will need multiple specs for your subwoofers to figure out the correct box size and port diameters/length.

Also, other calculations like the resonant frequency of the vehicle you are putting these in and numerous other issues. Seriously, fixya.com is the wrong place to get this answered. Teams spends tens of thousands of dollars and years perfecting their vehicles to compete. Go to a good audio forum and ask this question there. You will receive ALOT better help and you can interact with some very knowledgeable people about your competition wishes. Good luck and have patience!!

What is the proper box for 12 inch alumi subs

It all depends on the manufacturer's specs. For instance memphis makes a bunch of different 12" subs and each needs a different box. Also It depends on what kind of sound you want. If you want precise bass I would go with a sealed box. If you want loud then I would go with a ported box. Then the port depends on what the manufacturer recommends. what I would do is find their website or just a tech support phone number and get specs from them. If there is one place that can tell you a good box, it is the maker of the subwoofer. If you need help from there just let me know and I would be happy to help.
