Crosshairs are broken in Starrett No. 99E Telescopic Transit

Both the vertical and horizontal crosshairs are severed near one end. Looking for a repair facility, as L.S. Starrett no longer has the capability to repair this circa 1939 model.

I too am looking for an answer to this, my cross hairs are gone on my Starrett 101 A transit. Not even sure how to take it apart to look at repairing it myself. Just bought it.

My bsa sweet 17 6-18 is shooting about 2 inches high at 100 yards. on the adjustment turret it has an arrow that shows which way to turn for up. What is moving up? the point of impact relative to the...

To raise the point of impact, turn the elevation screw counterclockwise. To shift left, turn windage screw clockwise. If you raise the horizontal cross hair you will lower the point of impact of the bullet. If you move the vertical cross hair to the right the shot placement will go to the left. Make small adjustments tap the scope with a screwdriver handle to give it a shock, not to hard to help move the cross hairs and try to bore sight first. Hope this helps Fix ya up.

The crosshairs on my old craftsman transit level model number 789.46161 fell off. does anyone know where i can get parts for this transit

2 allen screws on side and one on top hold the lenses and crosshair housing in place. Remove screws and slide hosing out. Unscrew and the crosshairs holder is now in view. There will be shadows of where the glue holding the crosshairs was placed. If you still have the original crosshairs place one end at a time back in place and glue. If not, you can use spiders web or go to a gunsmith and get new crosshairs. Have fun and go slow. Mark

On call of duty my right anolgue stick when i go up it looks down when i go down it looks up

THE CROSSHAIRS MOVE RIGHT ALONG THE X AXIS AFTER CALIBRATION CAUSING A PLANE IN FLIGHT SIMULATOR X TO BANK UNCONTROLLABLY TO THE RIGHT. tHE CROSSHAIRS ALSO MOVE IRRATICALLY WHEN THE STICK IS MOVED HORIZONTALLY. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BASED ON WHAT OTHER USERS HAVE SAID.

Unable to align red crosshairs in horizontal range

No there are no quick fix options for this fault. The convergence amplifiers operate similar to a high power audio amplifier, so if there is an impairment anywhere in the system, it will result in distorted audio, or in the case of television convergence amplifiers, one or more colors won't align. The convergence power pacs need to be replaced and the out of tolerance precision resistors located near the power pacs need to be carefully checked and replaced as necessary. And the power supply fuse links to the power pacs checked and replaced as needed.

It is also possible that there are root faults that cause the amplifiers to go bad which include bad connections or a bad digital control module. This repair is possible for anyone having basic electronics knowledge and soldering skills. After the above repairs are performed it may be necessary to perform the static convergence realignment procedure using the outer cross hairs as you mentioned, and realigning them.

Crosshairs are cocked to the right.

your scope has spun in the scope rings. Loosen the screws holding the scope to the rifle and turn scope until crosshairs are into position. Then tighten screws. You will need to sight in again. If it keeps moving replace scope rings.

Fine tuning grid on my Samsung HDTV with remote.(BP59-00048)

To adjust manual convergence on your projection TV, follow theses steps:
  1. Turn your TV on.
  2. Let it warm up for 30 minutes.
  3. Press the Menu button on your remote. The Main menu appears.
  4. Use your remote to select Function, and then press the joystick.
  5. Select Convergence, and then press the joystick. The Manual Convergence screen appears.
  6. Select Red, and then press the joystick. A series of crosshairs appears on the screen.
  7. Select one of the outside crosshairs by moving the joystick up/down/right/left or by pressing the 2 (up), 4 (left), 6 (right), or 8 (down) buttons on your remote. The method you use depends on the model of remote you have. Note: You must do the outside crosshairs first.
  1. In the crosshair you selected, if you can see a horizontal red line, use the CH up or CH down buttons to move the line so that it is superimposed on the horizontal center line of the crosshair. Note: Make the single horizontal line as white as possible.
  1. In the crosshair you selected, if you can see a vertical red line, use the Vol + or Vol - buttons to move the line so that it is superimposed on the vertical center line of the crosshair. Note: Make the single vertical line as white as possible.
  1. Repeat for all outside crosshairs, and then for the inside crosshair.
  2. Return to the Manual Convergence Screen, and select Blue, and then press the joystick.
  3. Repeat Steps 7 through 10 for Blue.
  4. Press the Menu button on your remote to exit.
Important: The directions above work for most Samsung Rear Projection TVs. Yours may be different. For exact directions to perform manual convergence, see your user's manual. If you don't have your user's manual on hand, click HERE to view your manual on line.
If you cannot get your Projection TV to converge, it may need to be serviced. To arrange a service appointment, call Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864). Have your TV's model number and serial number on hand when you call.
