The sounds and audio not working

Try installing the audio drivers.
You can download the audio and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windows drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

Probook 4530s headphone not working

I had this problem with probook 4540s. I installed the drivers from HP site, but the problem didn't solve. Then I found that unchecking Playback devices > Properties (Speakers) > Advanced > Enable audio enhancements, did solve the problem.

HP HP ProBook 4510s - Core 2 Duo T5870 / 2.0 GHz - RAM 4 GB - HDD 500 GB - DVD RW No device Realtek HD Audio output. Only SoundMax HD Audio exists. How to add Realtek audio device?

You can only download drivers for the chip set that is in your laptop. Any other will give trouble.
Consult your manual or HP.com to be sure what is actually there.
Hope this helps
