Not sure if you can fix it, but it's an overheating issue. Laptop overheats and shuts down itself in order to cool down. You state it's a turion CPU and those are OLD. During all those years your laptop was sucking the air from below and blowing it out so dust particles and some other stuff has clogged your vents. Soulution to your problem would be to take the laptop apart, take of the cpu cooler, blow it out with an air compressor or vacuum cleaner, apply some new thermal paste to the cpu and add the cooler again. If you feel uncomfortable doing that - get it to the nearest repair center.

The simplest thing to do, as it is a desktop computer, is go to the control panel, power options and set everything to never so the computer never goes into standby mode.
If this does not prevent the machine going into standby mode then we need to perform further troubleshooting.

Let me tell you that do not use UPS current on to the computer as the current in UPS is (AC) it would blow whole of the power supply or might effect to your Computer processor. As now you are suggested to get new power supply. hope fully this would work

My monitor gets switched off when i connect to cpu,the moment i disconnect it from cpu,its switches on automatically.what may be the problem?

One of two things:

1.) Your video card is 'stuck' in standby mode, which in turn sends a signal putting the monitor in low power 'standby' mode as well. When you disconnect it, the monitor returns to normal 'on' mode. Rebooting the PC should correct this issue.

2.) Your resolution or refresh rate are set outside the range supported by the monitor. When you connect the monitor, it starts receiving a signal that it can't display, so it simply turns off. You'll need to reboot the PC and press F8 quickly to bot into safe mode and correct the monitor settings.

Press and HOLD the power button on/off..until the unit goes into the standby mode...unfortunately there is not a switch on the back of the unit so you are required to literally unplug the unit...which will completely power down the unit.

It could be your monitor is fine. It simply goes to a cycle when its turned on and does not detect any signal coming from your CPU, it simply goes on standby mode (hence the darker image and orange/blinking light.) have you checked the computer (CPU) part?

Your power supply may not be supplying the required electricity to keep your monitor on. Try plugging your monitor in a different electricity source. Your CPU may be drawing much power from the source and not enough is supplied to the monitor. You may plug the monitor directly to the UPS (uninterrupted power supply) if the cable end allows it.
