Engine rpm serges sometimes and powernosle pressure drop some times

Gas engine surging and losing power sounds like dirty carb to me.
Pressure washers are often used and then sit for months before being used again. This often creates blockage in carb passages. If you have or install a fuel cutoff valve you can reduce this problem. When you are done pressure washing, turn off the fuel valve and continue spraying water until the carb empties ( the engine will sputter and go out) Next time you want to wash turn on the valve and you should be good to go.

My pressure washer stops running when i let off the trigger

hi there sal rick85

sounds like the unloader valve is not working or stuck closed , check the setting of the unloader valve may be set too high, the unloader must open in odrder to cycle water back to inlet side of pump - if not builds up heaps of pressure , stalls the engine - service the un loader valves on the pressure head

take look and let me know - what brand your blaster unit is i know its honda but what pump
comet - axd, lw/zw, - in line or axial cam

in the mean time here is good web site on power washers

First of all:
go to this link and print out the documents. This is a service manual for self testing the washer. http://dc342.4shared.com/doc/FM0C3Sem/preview.html (SPAM FREE)

Run the self test
If the machine self test give you these errors:
Sensor NO
Washing Error
There is probably a problem with the washing sensor wire connection in the bottom of the machine.
Do this:
- Unplug the power
- Turn the machine 180 degrees so you get access to the rear service lid.
- Unscrew the screws on the lid.
- In the left hand bottom in the rear you wil see the water pump. This has two connectors with two blue wires on each connection. One is connected to the bottom of a white connection box on the bottom of the water pump. The other one goes over the top to a plastic joint connector. In my case this one was cut of for some reason.
- Uncut the strip that holds the blue wires in place on the water hose. This will make it easier to work with.
- Unplug the two blue connector plugs. Mark somehow or make sure you remember where both of them go.
-Open the connector on top where the blue wires goes inside the connector plug.
- Check if the cables are intact and in place in the plug. If you are unsure, take out the wires cut of 10mm and strip about 6mm making the copper appear.
- Mount the wires in the holding clamps.
- Connect wires back
- Run self test again
- If ok. Connect the back service lid again.

Karcher Power Washer that surges up and down with water pressure.

Before you start it up:
1. Disconnect the high pressure hose 2. Connect the water supply and turn on 3. Make sure water is flowing through the pump
Start the motor, run for about 10 seconds and then turn off.
Turn off the water supply, connect the high pressure hose, turn water back on, start the motor and away you go.

Husky power washer no presure?

Found an easy solution to my problem. Was dumping pressure out the bottom when I pushed the trigger. Turned out the line my hose reeler that my hose was running off of was kinked. Only partial pressure was going from the house hose to the pressure washer. I attached my house directly into the house, bypassing the hose reeler, and it worked fine. Apparently, you need a certain amount of pressure going into the washer for it to work.

Electric or Gas?

Pressure washers are either electric or gasoline powered. Electric pressure washers are low maintenance and quiet. These generally are for light duty. They are handy where you need to work on small confined area, however you need to run power to them and have a pressurized water source. Also the National Electrical Code and Underwriters Laboratories now require ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) be use when operating an electric pressure washer. Gas models are recommended for tasks that require more power, such as paint prep, heavy vehicle cleaning, or cleaning heavily soiled concrete.. Gas models start with PSI of 1750 and go as high as 4000. They also offer more portability, as they are not limited by electric cords. Also some gas models can draw water from a source other than the garden hose, which allows you to work away from a water line. All gas models have 4-cycle engines and run on regular unleaded gas.
