Baxi bermuda 57/4m pilot light won't light?

The grey button is working as pushing the gas out, the ignition button is sparking when pressed. But it won't light, I had the meters changed a few days before and the pilot light was switched off. Is it likely to be dust and needs to be cleaned?

SOURCE: got a baxi bermuda 552, back boiler not working

Hi clean pilot light and change the thermocouple , you will have to remove the gasfire to get to the boiler if unsure best get a gas fitter to do this as this is not easy to explaine , simple job but you have to know what you are doing , it might be you need a service on the bbu and the gasfire then the thermocouple could be done at this time.

SOURCE: pilot light on baxi bermuda

Sometimes the thermostat wire (not sure of the technical name) gets oxidized and can't sense the heat (it's there as a safety measure so that when the pilot light goes out, the gas shuts off). If it isn't to hard to get to, sometimes you can use some aluminum foil to clean the wire so that it senses the heat of the pilot light flame. Make sure the main unit is off, and let the unit sit for awhile to make sure there is no residual gas hanging around. If this doesn't work, you might have to get a specialist out to replace that piece. Hope this helps.

Baxi bermuda 50/6 inset 3 burner ignites but vry small flame on it and dusn get any bigger boiler den goes 2 lock out after 2 or 3 mins any ideas

Mark, it sounds like the pilot may be dirty and needs cleaning. A can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) works well for doing this. Also, make sure that the inline ON/OFF gas valve, on the gas line going to the heater is fully OPEN.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

How to light pilot light on back boiler?

Hi. we have a baxi bermuda. I know that you need to hold in the silver button on the left while repeatedly pressing red/ignighter button until pilot is lit. Hold in the silver button for at least another 30 seconds.
Good luck, ours wont light anymore so was on here looking for advice.

I have an old ideal elan 2 boiler. The pilot light has gone out and wont re-ignite. I have pressed the ignition switch in but there is not even a spark. Does anybody know where the re-set button is on...

Hi, to light the pilot you must first ensure the gas valve button (Grey with 3 symbols on it) is placed in the ignition position, then, while holding the button in towards the gas valve depress the orange ignitor button several times, hold the gas valve button in for about 30 seconds once the pilot lights. If it fails to light and you cannot see a spark when you depress the ignition button the cable could be faulty, the ignitor corroded or damaged or the pilot could be blocked or the gas turned off. If it is an Elan 2 CF boiler there is no reset button.
