thanks for adv. however i am confused.

PS has 50pin connectors and there is another connector connecting DEL pc with 24 pin connector..

    which connector do you mean?

  • nob Jun 19, 2009

pin 11 12 of 24 pin are both ground.

pin 11 and 12 of 50 in is +12v and GND.

pin 14 of 24 pin is GND

    pin 14 of 50 pin is +12v.

    They are not ATX connector.

Connect PIN 11 to PIN 12.  Try that one.

Pin 14

It's pin 16 on a 24 pin connector. Forget about the 50 pin connector, that does not concern you. Computer power supplies are turned off and on by a signal from the motherboard, routed through the machine's power switch. Ground the right pin and the power supply comes on.

How do you know a computer is burnt on a golf 99?

Go to pin 4 and 5 measure the voltage together, this will determine the voltage drop, with key on engine running if it starts the voltage should not exceed .05vlts. Go to pin 16 measure pin 16 and body ground you should measure battery voltage,3_29_2012_7_06_06_pm.jpg

Ref ASTEC power supply from old computer model SA 147-3505 I can pick up the logic 5 volts but not the +12 volts and -12 volts .FAN not energised so I guess there needs to be an elec link via the computer...

You can jumper on an ATX power supply by using a wire to connect pin 4 (green wire) to any of the grounds on the 20 pin ATX connector. The grounds are normally a black wire. You will need to put some sort of load on the power supply such as a hard drive to keep it running.

I want to convert this power supply for use with a battery charger for model aircraft. I need to know the color codes for the wires and also the pinout and which wire is the power on.

Pin Name Color Description
1 3.3V Orange +3.3 VDC
2 3.3V Orange +3.3 VDC
3 COM Black Ground
4 5V Red +5 VDC
5 COM Black Ground
6 5V Red +5 VDC
7 COM Black Ground
8 PWR_OK Gray Power Ok (is a status signal generated by the power supply to notify the computer that the DC operating voltages are within the ranges required for proper computer operation)
9 5VSB Purple +5 VDC Standby Voltage (max 10mA)
10 12V Yellow +12 VDC
11 3.3V Orange +3.3 VDC
12 -12V Blue -12 VDC
13 COM Black Ground
14 /PS_ON Green Power Supply On (active low). Short this pin to GND to switch power supply ON, disconnect from GND to switch OFF.
15 COM Black Ground
16 COM Black Ground
17 COM Black Ground
18 -5V White -5 VDC
19 5V Red +5 VDC
20 5V Red +5 VDC

/PSON activated by pressing and releasing the power button while the power supply is in standby mode. Activating /PSON connects the power supply's /PSON input to ground, thereby switching the power supply to full-on condition.
18 AWG is recommended for all wires except pin 11, which should be 22 AWG. For 300W configurations 16 AWG is recommended.
There are several ATX variants.
Hope this helps.
If this helps you resolve your problem, please
consider giving me a rating of 4.It will help me as well. Thank you.

Computer will not turn on. Possible power surge.

If the power supply is good then your motherboard must have gone bad during a surge.

2001 jeep cherokee sport 6 cyl 4 wdr cranks want start

If the data link is not talking to the computer check your ground at the computer and at the data link connector to see if the computer is even alive ground pin 3 on DLC with the key off then turn key to the run position if it flashes the check engine codes record them, if no engine light, does the engine light come on when you turn the key on then go off? if not, check fuses if not check power for pin on computer, if it has power you have a bad computer. But TEST THE GROUNDS IT IS THE BIGGEST FAILURE For these rigs or any manufacture. check that you have power also at the DLC too. if not you need a digital ohm meter and a subscription to http:///.www.alldatadiy.com and start reading the campaigns on that vechile for computer and trouble tree for dead DLC and computer. I don't have that subscription or I could tell you more where to look, if you need anymore help let me know. Also if the crank sensor could cause it not to run the fuel pump but so can the cam sensor. You need to find out if the computer gets it's pulse for the pump at the computer if it does then you need to test them both. There are three wires a ground a colored power wire and a wire to go to the computer you can test these sensors with a meter to see if there is a pulse to each. sometimes the fuel pump gets it's signal from the coil pack so it's important to have the subscription, you can do a search for each item and test them as needed and has a wiring diagram.

No power up

You need to locate the PS_ON pin and short to ground (GND). This pin may vary depending on model and I don't know if green is the standard color for this, but it is green on the unit I just looked at for reference and it it aso shown here http://pinouts.ru/Power/atx_v2_pinout.shtml
any black wire should be ground

Wiring harness on my 94 Ranger

I have a 94 Ranger XLT extended cab. Here are the power/ ground connector pinouts and wire colors as shown in the factory service manual:
Pin 1 LG/Y Radio Memory Power (B+)
Pin 2 BK Ground
Pin 3 Y/BK Power (Hot in RUN or ACCY)
Pin 4 LB/R Illumination (dims with dash lights)
Pin 5 O/BK Illumination (does not dim)
Pin 6 BK/LG Ground

From the diagrams, looks like either ground will work.

Hope this helps.

Need pin out info for aqua vu 4 pin connector

I figured it out:

Here goes: There are 4 wires inside the Aqua Vu cable that runs to the underwater part of the cam.

Red = Hot or 12 volt power from battery postive (red) terminal

Black = Ground - ground to battery negative terminal

White= Video input (or center of video coax)

Green= Infrared lighting control, if you ground the green wire against the black/ground, you will see

that it switches ON the infrared or "Christmas" lights. Simply put a switch on the green wire after you ground it, so you can switch your IR's on and off.

Power switch went bad. need to know which pins attach to which wires

Looking at the front of PC remove the left side panel. Now looking in at the board. There are two rows of pins in the lowest right hand corner of the board. Your PWRSW is your power switch. Its a two pin connector. The ground wire will be black or white. The ground faces to the right & connects at pin 4 counting from right to left. Power switch takes up pin 4&5.
All done. If tech switched the wires by mistake than flip the connector 180*.
