Clutch won't disengage on my Riding Mower

When I turn my mower on the blade engages and wont stop. Whether I pull the clutch to disengage the blades or not is makes no difference. When I turn the mower off, I can hear the clicking each time I pull the clutch up and down to disengage and engage the blade, so I don't think the switch is bad. Any ideas?

Sound like the electronics and the clutch activator are working. However, it sounds like the clutch pads are not disengaging.
They make have gotten hot and froze to the pully housing or their may be some foreign object caught up in there.
Take the belt off the clutch and see if the pulley housing spins freely (machine off of course).

The mower blades are engaged at all times. The switch that disengages blades does not work. A safety issue exists. What can you advise?

Sounds like the switch is defective and must be replaced..in the meantime...locate the wire connecting to the electric clutch fro the bad switch, shut the mower off and disconnect the wire from the clutch..you can operate the mower when not using the blades....just remember make sure you shut it down before attempting to pull the wire off the clutch..this is only a Temporary fix...good luck..

What causes fuse to blow every time I try to engage blades?

To engage the blades is it a knob to an electric switch that you pull?
If so does the wire from the switch activate a electric clutch?
Is the wire damaged and shorted to the frame, is the clutch shorted. If you provide the brand name and model number I might be able to find a schematic for your mower.

Video shows an electric clutch but yours may be different but this should give you an idea of where to look. Riding Mower Electric PTO Clutch Won Engage When Hot Problem Fix

Stalls When engaging the blade clutch

Check that the blade brake is disengaging. Slip belt off blade spindles and check that they spin freely. Check underside of deck for clogged grass, ropes, wire, etc.

Blades wont engage

check the clutch if it engage then check the cable and belt to if it works make sure all the bolts are tight. usually the belts is too loose or if its a clutch drive maybe the clutch doesn't engage or worn out.

Craftsman riding mower blades won't disengage

This is too late, but for the next person: There is an extension spring around the cable attached to the blade engage/disengage lever.

On my tractor one end of the spring had the hook broken off or it. Because it is around the cable it is still in place but doesn't stretch when you engage the blade (so can't pull the pulley out and slacken the belt when you disengage).

The replacement is a few dollars and can be bought on ebay or Amazon.

My blades wont engage and just hear click sound?

No permanent solution, but you probably can get by once by "riding" the clutch engagement lever - pushing it only part way forward and holding onto it.
