SOURCE: oven showing F2 fault

I concur with Catriver. F2 means that the oven temperature has exceeded a preset threshold. It could be for any of the following reasons: Welded relay contacts. Cooling fan stalled or blocked air flow to rear of unit. High resistance in oven sensor leads/high resistance in connectors especially at sensor in rear. There could be an open thermal switch in the yellow leads. The oven sensor would measure around 2650 ohms at the "clean temperature".

SOURCE: I have a Thermador SC301 wall oven and the display

I have just repaired two SC301 ovens myself, but it is alot of work. You can get the oven's LED lights reconditioned at a company called CGI industries. Look them up on the web and click on the link for thermador. Removing the led panel and oven relay board is an involved job, but easier if you do it the correct way. First, turn off the power to the oven. Then pull the oven out of the wall socket about 1 quarter of the way. Remove the top cover of the oven with a phillips screw driver. This reveals the oven relay board. Take a digital picture of the board to remember the wire positions, or alternatively write them down. You also need to remove the touch panel (two screws underneath) and gain access to the LED. Remove the LED panel and wires. ship both to CGI (boards only) and you will have them back in less than a week. Costs about $170 before shipping. Reinstall and turn power on. All is good.

For Thermador SC301 ZC/01 built-in oven, should I buy 27 or 30 inch baking element?

You buy the one and only the one the manufacturer supplies for that model. Switching will cause problems with cooking and electronics in the immediate future. Order ONLY through a supplier that has the ability to look up the proper part for you.
Automatic Appliance Parts is one, 800.323.027, call them for the part and save yourself headaches.

My thermador oven tells me error code 14

Sometimes you can unplug the unit for at least 30 minutes and reset the unit and it wont do it again.Try that first. An error code on a thermador of 14 means latch switch problems.

Self-clean turns off after 5 minutes with F2 error message

Hi MaryB,

F2 error code means that the oven temperature is too hot. You will have to replace relay board if faulty. Check and replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). If failure repeats, replace ERC (electronic range control or clock). For replacement part you may contact Sears at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My Name is Don from Mr Fix it Applaince in baytown texas. I have seen this F34 error as well and may have a solution for some of you... According to a Thermador error code book for a C301bs/03 single Thermador oven. It says its a air flow problem. This means it could be the fan motor sensor telling the controlboard that it is not spinning fast or not at all. or it could be a micro paddle switch that is activated by air flow, I found Two of them on the bottome of a double oven thermador a few moths ago.. Recap : if your fan blower motor has 4 wires going to it, it has a sensor reading the rotation of the motor.... if yours does not have this then you should look for a paddle switch.
