Your mechanical defrost clock timer is located in the control panel where the rotary knobs are for the ED25 model given which is a Whirlpool SxS, For the Frigidaire Mod FRS, your defrost control will most likely be located in the long housing running down the center wall (front to back) of the fridge near the outlet vent, this is an electronic adaptive defrost control. Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!

It sounds like you could have a problem with your defrost timer or control panel. I would recommend having a professional come out to your home to properly diagnose and repair your appliance to avoid any unnecessary part purchases.

I can't find the wiring diagram for my whirlpool refridgerator.... MOD.#ET19RKXFN01 SER.#EG3222178. Can you please help. I need to change the defrost timer.....Thanks

I will try to locate a wiring diagram for your model ET19RKXFN01 but to change the defrost timer you will only need to know its location. Here is a link to the repair parts=> ET19RKXFN01_Repair_Parts_List
Go to page 5 of the repair parts list and you will see item number 4 Then on page 6 of the parts list you will see the timer part number beside the item 4. That is your defrost timer part number 2193084 Defrost Timer

Your refrigerator is an older model and may have the wiring digram in a packet behind the kick plate in the front near floor. Changing the defrost timer will not require use of a wiring diagram. Simply remove the old timer and replace the new defrost timer by plugging it into the wiring harness. The defrost timer can be found behind the control panel inside the fresh food compartment where the controls are located above the top shelf. If you have questions just let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Whirlpool Mod ET18LKXHWo o Fridge not freezing,

Your defrost timer located inside the control panel is bad OR the defrost thermostat located on a freezer coil is bad.
Get down low and look up at the bottom of the control panel.
You will see a small round hole. Onside the hole is the defrost timer advance knob.
Use a flat blade screwdriver and SLOWLY turh the slotted knod clockwise until the refrigerator clicks off.
Wait a few minutes then open the freezer door and listen for a sizzling sound from the freezer compartment.
If you do hear a sizzling sound that would be the defrost heater melting ice.
If you do not hear a sizzling sound, unplug the refrigerator and remove the rear freezer panel to expose the cooling coil.
Clipped to the coil will be the defrost thermostat. It will need replacing.
If you do hear the sizzling sound the defrost timer will need replacing.

I have a fridgedaire fridge the freezer is on top. And it is not freezing i changed the defrost switch and the timer and it is still not freezing. What do you think it is?

defrost has nothing to do with freezing.its for thawing the frost off the evap coils. are the coils in the freezer frosty? if the fans are running and the compressor is running and no frost on coils then freon is leaking or compr. valves are shot.

Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer Mod. #795 75544401

The unit was built bt LG. It is a computer controled unit and the timer is built into the main control board on back of the unit. However, the most likely cause of the broblem is the defrost terminator located on the evap on the upper right hand corner. Also, try unpugging the unit it will reset the computer board. You will also have to defrost the unit.

GE Frig mod#TFX26KPDA

More likely, the defrost system has failed.
There are three components: Defrost timer, a defrost heater, and a defrost bi-metal.
The timer can be located either in the food compartment, on the rear of the unit, or behind the kickplate. The heater and bi-metal are located behind the freezer rear wall (or freezer floor, depending on design). It's easiest to unplug the fridge overnight, with the freezer door open, to melt all the ice that has developed. PRIOR to doing all this, please ensure that there IS ice forming on the wall of floor of the freezer! Let me know. I hope this helps!
