Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

I just installed a WD Scorpio Black 500GB HDD to my PS3. I did all the required steps to insure complete restoration of my game data. The question I have is why when I backed up my 40GB original HD and had 2GB of 37GB and now with the 500GB HDD I have 396GB of 465GB of free space? That's almost 70GB gone and a hell of a lot more than my original drive. So where is all that extra data stored on my HDD in the PS3?

Ok it is perfectly normal for that memory to be missing the ps3 reserves something like 12% of the memory for system management and to create a swap file and also for general processes, and the games also take up 2gb of space a game or close to. all this should be stated on the box of the HDD, differs with brands

Hiii friends,
I too had lost some of my files from WD hard drive recently. So in order to recover data from WD hard drive I used WD Caviar Hard Drive Recovery, which scans entire hard drive within few minutes and retrieves each and every file. You can download it from internet for trial usage.

Micro sd 2gb tidak bisa format

Hallo scorpio, semoga solusi ini membantu

If the micro SD format fails, do not you repeat the formatting process. Because it will exacerbate the damage to the micro SD. Follow the steps below. Good luck.

All you have to do is:

Step One:
To save data, use EASEUS Data Recovery software (free version - 1GB of data recovery). how:
1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Choose Complete Recovery - Next
3. Choose the drive micro SD - Next
4. Save the data to the hard disk (max. 1GB)
5. Because of your micro SD 2GB, repeat the process of recovery (repeat step 2, 3, 4)
After all data is secure, do the process of removing the micro SD password

Step Two:
The first alternative - use the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
1. Download and install the software HP Drive Key Boot Utility
2. Then, double click the file cp006049.exe
3. If you are using Win XP, double click the file cp006049.exe - select Install.
4. If you are using Win Vista or Seven, double click the file cp006049.exe - select extrack.
5. Then, open the program "HP Drive Key Boot Utility or hpdkbu.exe" - Next - select drive - Next - Create new or replace exiting configuration - Next - Hard drive - Next - Create new file system - Next - wait until the process is completed - Next - Finish.
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

The second alternative - use software HDD Low Level Format Tool
1. Download and install HDD Low Level Format Tool
2. Select micro SD - Continue
3. Click S.M.A.R.T - click Get Smart Attributes
4. Click LOW LEVEL FORMAT - click Format this device
5. Wait until the process is complete - press OK
6. Remove the micro SD from the USB port, then insert it again.
7. Quick format micro SD (FAT file system)
8. Restore all data, to the micro SD.

If the second solution does not work, it means your micro SD damaged firmware. Based on experience, one of the causes of damage to the firmware is, the formatting process is done repeatedly, but always failed.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for using FixYa!

Unfortunately, if you did a full system restore without backing up your data, it's gone. Sorry, man. However, if you sign into your PSN account, you'll still have your trophies. I know it's not much. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Ps3 wont reconize any discs after freezing

The error code 80710102 you are getting due to a possible connectivity issue of your PS3, since you have not specified in your problem how are you trying to connect your PS3 to internet so i am unable to assist you on that front

For the problem related to discs not playing is becuase ps3 files being corrupt.

1) First take a back up of your data on PS3 - Go to system settings> backup and follow the appropriate settings,i suggest use a usb stick or hard drive to back up your data.

2) Under system settings go to restore ps3 and follow instructions. This will erase all the data on your ps3 and restore it to its factory default, this will restore all the original ps3 files.

3) Once the PS3 install has completed then try updating your PS3 to latest firmware available, now try playing your discs

4) If your ps3 now plays games and dvds go back to system setting> backup, select restore previous back up and all your saved data will be imported from the hard disk, please note: you may not be able to restore any copyright stuff which you could have purchased.

5) If the above steps do not work, kindly send your PS3 for repairs to Sony Customer Service

Hope This Helps

I dont not wy i can't play

many games load data on to the hdd to keep load time down. If your hard drive is full you can upgrade to a lager unit or erase the data you no longer need. btw all ps3 use a 2.5" sata hd with a 5400rpm speed. You can put in a 500gb if you wanted. You would need to back up all your data first. you can also setup the ps3 to use a external hard drive for storage.
