My 2004 dodge neon is over heating, i replaced the radiator and the thermostat. It is still overheating, can you help me figure out the problem?

i had this same problem with a 2004 dodge stratus. turned out to be mixed coolants. check to make sure that the thermostat is opening and closing properly. you can do this by dropping the thermostat into boiling water. if it opens its not that. could also be the water pump, to check this look for a slow drip of coolant coming from the water pump. water pump has what is called a weep hole and when it goes bad coolant will drip from the weep hole.

I have a chrysler neon 2l 2001 model and I can hear the water in the water tank boiling yet the temp gauge shows temp is normal.

What you are hearing may be normal.
There may be air pockets in the cooling system and you are hearing the coolant moving around in the system. Kind of like a coffee pot.
As the thermostat opens at 195 degrees the coolant expands and contracts.
Make sure the system is full of coolant.

Have you checked out the water pump? Most of the time, you can feel movement in the /head shaft area before it fails. Water pumps usually go slowly, pumping less and less water (making the engine run hotter). The also get noisy when they start to fail.

you need to check your upper and lower rad hoses also your thermostat if in doubt take to a reputable Rad shop and have them look at it threy are usually very good with most rad and overheating problems

My 2000 neon is overheating. has 60 thousand on motor. new water pump flushed radiator new thermostat. runs perfect. till about twenty miles or so down the road then overheats and boils.. cracked head?

It maybe a cracked head or head gasket or cracked block. Ask your friends for help (those with mechanical abilities) or take it to a shop. Make sure you don;t get water/ antifreeze in the oil or your whole engine will be toast.
Pull the spark plugs. the one with the cleaner/ whiter insulator is probably the bad cylinder.

Hope this helps.

2001 dodge neon dohc engine 2.0 radiater cracked inside a/t oil passage and mixed a/t oil and coolant . after replacing radiater I could not bleeding air.because before thermostat opining, coolant is...

Ok well there are two issues here the boiling and the potential for the transmission to be harmed by the contamination of the tranny fluid by antifreeze. First A/T fluid is not going to harm the coolant system in the least, however antifreeze in the trans. fluid will harm the automatic transmission get the tranny flushed as soon as possible , Change out the thermostat then refill radiator using 50% water 50 % antifreeze ( premixed in container) fill radiator then run the car without radiator cap add coolant as needed, put you radiator cap on and wait 5 - 10 minutes until car comes up to operatimg temp. you must observe the engine to make sure the electric radiator fan comes on after the car runs for at least ten minutes if it does not the problem is the usually the radiator fan relay or the fan coolant temperature sensor last in rare cases the fan itself. As for the air bleed usually letting the car run with the radiator cap off for ten to fifteen minutes will do it just make sure you don't remove the radiator cap when the car is hot 2nd degree burns usually hurt.

Car is still overheating after new thermostat, new housing.....

bleed air out cooling system. put half antifreeze and half water .if you got too much water .it willl cause engine to over heat. antifreeze raise boiling point .220 degrees it wont boil away . water will evaporate 212 will boil away .causing low coolant problems and over heating.
