Question about Frigidaire FFBD2406NB 24" Built-In Dishwasher

1 Answer

Dishwasher leaking I've notced on more than one occaision water leaking from the dishwasher. It doesn't happen all the time. Twice it was clearlly from the front of the machine, but a couple times I couldn't tell if it was leaking underneath as well. Once I was electricuted while cleaning the water. It worked fine after that until this time when there was a lot of water pooled in front and we could see water dripping from the left corner. Now I've been wondering if washing laundry and them both draining at the same time may be the culprit. I do tend to clean all at once and we never shower while the hot water is running in the dishwasher. If not what is causing this? The water drained out immediately when I turned off.

If its leaking from the front its the seal. Its probably dried out and got a crack in it. You could try to repair it with superglue or something but would be best to get a new one (seal or dishwasher you pick)

Every now and then it leaks

Look at the bottom inside, there is a drain which can collect too much dirt and then stops up.

Hoover Dishwasher HD95M leaks on start up from bottom right front corner. Leaks when initially being fed from water feed.

Water leaking can be poor plumbing or fault in the inlet hose connection. You are the first observer and so your view on the leak area is important as the leak can be from the hose, from the inlet, the hose or the washer unit.
Based on this the water leak can be plugged, tighten the hose clips, check the inlet filter or check the washer's feed line.

ABOUT 1" OF WATER REMAINS IN DISHWASHER

I recently bought two same model dishwashers. Both of them have the same problem. The water leak out of the machine because of the remaining water. I had my contractors come to look at it. They told me that the machines are defective.
The model should be be sold. I am going to have my exchanged to another model.

Westinghouse 906 leaks from front door

If your dishwasher leaks, check these:Main tub seal
Door gasket or seal
Water-inlet valve
Hoses

Main tub seal
Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

1. Lower rack
2. Spray arm
3. Spray arm support
4. Wash/drain impellers

Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

Door gasket or seal
Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak.

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

Hoses
Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

Dishwasher fills with water... wont wash

usually if the motor is not kicking in then it is a blocked/seized wash motor or a broken wire somewhere from the timer to the motor. either will mean a stripdown. try checking out the motor first.
