SOURCE: lubrication and maintenance reciprocal saw DeWalt

Before you attempt any of this I would recommend going to Dewaltservicenet.com and see what the inside of this tool looks like. It appears that you need to remove part of the front gearcase to get into the lube. The back e.g. brushes is not that big of a deal. If there is a Service Center near you they have a Max repair rate that they will fix anything on this saw at a preset firm price and if it is less that is what they would charge.

SOURCE: locking screw for blade on reciprocating saw

Virtually every manufacturer has a different size thread for the locking (set) screw on their saw. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

SOURCE: need a switch module for dewalt dw306 reciprocating saw

I had a similar problem with a switch on a Craftmans wire welder that they said was no longer available. I looked at the switch and there was a manufacture number and logo of the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer to see if they still made the switch and the manufacturer sent me a sample of my switch at no cost. Check to see if there is a manufacter name or logo you can look up on the internet and contact them directly and sometimes they will help you out as Sears was no help to me.

I have a dw307 reciprocating saw that runs for 10 seconds and stops. Any ideas?

Check the set of tangs that the battery contacts. That is actually the bottom of the switch. The tangs can become spread apart or can also overheat and break off causing you to not get full battery contact. Common problem on these tools.

It could be a bad on off switch. You have to take it apart and check the switch whith a ome meter. Also check the power cord where it goes in the saw for voltage. While it is apart make sure you can spin the motor by hand. Also check the brushes on the motor they should be under screw caps.

Reciprocating saw stops reciprocating

your missing a tooth on a large round gear in the gearbox.

when the gear on the engine rotates into the position where the little engine gear spins because there is no tooth to come into contact with the engine runs but the gearbox doesnt spin, hence no reciprocation, but engine runs.

if you bump the blade it will start going again, but when you cut it will stop offasionally in mid cut. you can repair this but stop using it the engine gear will be destroyed otherwise

I have a dewalt dw303 that you can use for parts, I need a new trigger or something the motor is dead and I found a new saw. go to craigslist.org, rochester ny tools section and look for dewalt dw303 that is my listing. for ten bucks ill sell you all the gears you need. i think it is close to the same model, i am sure it is the same gearbox.

try opening your gearbox, im positive that is what is wrong.
