SOURCE: When i connect rear speakers

Either you have the back speakers hooked up to the sub woofer output channel on the head unit. Or your amp has a built in crossover. Not letting the higher frequencies get to the speakers.

Remove the radio out by removing the face plate out and reinspect its wiring's and connectors.Any of the wire is getting loose or overheated/ shorted causing this problem.------- There's usually a flat metal "key" to release each of the two lock catches at the top corners of the radio. It should have come with the radio. Look for slots in the top corners about 1/4' wide. If you don't have the key, you can try using a thin jewler's screwdriver or can try buying a key at an audio store or even a Radio Shack. --------- Once the radio is out, then disconnect it wires, then clean the wires with contact cleaner and reconnect the wires. Then without fitting the radio, just turn it on and see, does it gets over heated and is there any problem with sound after using it for few hours.--------- If you still notice the same problem, then speaker and sound wires to the radio needs inspected. But if there is no problem, when radio is working out.The refit as it was before and test.--------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

There may be a fuse link or diode inside of the unit. You would have to dissasemble to locate. Depending on your skills, you can do this yourself. It would probably be expensive to have a shope repair it.

Sorry I can't help you...but wanted to let you know you are not alone. I bought a 2007 Chap last March and have the same problem. I've covered all the basic/common sense troubleshooting but can't get them to function. My frustration is that the displays work so the clock/radio station is displayed but nothing in regards to controlling the deck.

Connecting my ipod to xmd3

I believe that if you use the RCA connectors, you can use your iPod. If you use the clarion cca connector, you get more functionality from the dash of the clarion.

Yes, there are 2 Red RCA jacks on the back. A $10 cable from radion shack, 2 RCA on one end and a 3mm jack on the other.
Cheap way to do it, there is also a device you can buy from Clarion that will do it for about $90 that gives you more control from the radio.

This sounds like a signal problem. Make sure that all of your signal cables are plugged in fully. If all are, you need to check for coninuity between the shield ground of the head unit's RCA jacks and the case of the head unit. With no RCAs plugged into the head unit, you should read ~0 ohms between the shield of the RCA jacks and the case of the head unit.
