Is it possible to pair my Plantronics audio 995 with a cell phone? After all it is blue tooth

unlikely as it seems to use blootooth technology but doesnt expose the passcode for the connection. see below.

How do I pair my headset to its USB adapter?

Procedure

Your headset and adapter are already factory pre-paired, and should automatically connect with each other. Should your headset and adapter become unpaired, you can initiate pairing manually. To Pair Your Headset and Adapter:
  1. Start with your headset powered off. Press and hold the power button for about 4 seconds, until the status light rapidly flashes blue. Release the button and set the headset aside.
  2. While the USB adapter is plugged into the computer, pinch the connect/pair button for about 4 seconds, until the status light rapidly flashes blue. Release the button.
  3. The headset and adapter will automatically attempt to pair. If the pairing is successful the status lights will glow solid blue; if unsuccessful, both headset and adapter will stay in pairing mode.
If the pairing was unsuccessful and you want to try to pair again, you must first take your headset and adapter out of pairing mode:
  1. Turn your headset off.
  2. Single press the connect/pair button on the adapter.
  3. Repeat the "To Pair Your Headset and Adapter" procedure, above.
If your headset and adapter are separated and lose their connection after being successfully paired, they will automatically reconnect when they come back into range of each other. If they remain out of range for more than 30 seconds, the headset will go into sleep mode, but will reconnect automatically with the adapter once it is back in range. If the headset is out of range for more than 15 minutes, it automatically shuts off.

My Explorer 240 causes my phone (MtTouch 4G) to restart when out of range/re-connect, and when turning the 240 off or plugging it in for charging.

It could be a couple of issues, when using your bluetooth, make sure that the phone is on the same side of the body as the headset. You can't be out of range 33 feet, if you do you may loose the call, you have 30 seconds to get back with in range. Another problem is that you may be in a dead zone, whether by no towers or WiFi interference you may loose your signal. 3rd option is you may need to replace your battery.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

I just got the Jabra GO 6470: The desk phone doesn't ring in the headset, so if you're not within hearing distance of the desk phone (but within the 300 foot range of the base) you don't know...

what i gather from what you have said is that the headset doesn't ring at all. this would indicate to me that the headset is not paired with the base.
normally when pairing devices the base station will look for the device but at the same time you will have to hold the headset power button for at least 5 seconds for that the other device can capture the signal.
i will look into this for you but try this method if applicable but the bluetooth devices do have to be paired in order to work.

Phone say out of range

Verify the antenna, make it touch the headset and base antennas if they still report out of range is the headset antenna, take out the batteries of the headset for a wile, and put then in again, try to use it again, also verify if the base have a button to reset the used frequency to be sure the channel its ok.

I have a Motorola H350 ear piece I lost my inst. manual and do not have a pass key

Hi, If your headset is in paring mode, it will show up on the phone either with the name of device or something like this [unknown headset] or [b2.c3.f4.56.a1] (called a MAC address).

Either way, select it, and hit OK.

The phone will now ask you for a "Pin" or "Passcode", which is a 4 digit number. Headsets will ALWAYS have 0000 (four zeros) as a pin or passcode. I have never encountered a headset with a different number as a passcode. I have been in wireless for 10 years, and still have not found a headset that has any different numbers.

Enter these four zeros and select "OK"

The headset and phone will connect to each other. The phone will display a message that will be something to the effect of:
"Connected to headset".

At this point, the phone MAY ask if you want to use the headset. This means all audio from phone calls would be routed to the headset rather than in to the phone's speaker or earpiece. Select yes, or ok.

Your headset is now set up for you to talk on like a REALLY important CIA agent or something of the like...

Keep in mind that when a call comes in, the phone will still ring like normal.

You can answer the call by either:

1. Pulling the phone out of your pocket and hitting the answer button.
2. Touching the answer/end button on your headset without reaching for you phone.

The range of your headset is up to 30 feet, in a direct line of sight.

If you go into another room, your range may be decreased.

If you do happen to go out of range, the call will be transferred back to the phone, and as soon as you are in range again, touch the answer button on the headset to let the phone know you're back in range. It will re-transfer the call back to the headset.

If you turn off the phone, or headset, you can repair them again simply by going to the bluetooth menu and selecting the headset again from the list. It will reconnect without a pass code and you are up and running again.

*** Please note that you do not have to hold down the answer/end button on the headset until it goes a solid on again.

this works with the Samsung range quite well also but you must get the sequence correct - phone blue tooth active BEFORE you turn on the headset then press and hold the on button until the blue light stays solid blue.

I some time drop calls when I am using my headset.

If you are moving out of range from your base (33 feet) it will drop the call. Because this is a Bluetooth, you must always be in range.
