What you can do to this problem is reflash the firmware of this router, then you need to reset the router by pressing the reset button for 15 seconds and after that reconfigure the settimgs of the router and observe if you still have the problem , hopefully that will fix the issue of your router...

Is this router brand new sound like it could be a bad router. The wan port could be going bad. I have had similar problem like this before and took days for me to figure out.

Here's how I did it. I went to usr.com. Selected the type and model router which accesse the on-line product manual. Followed the instructions and using the cntrl-F keys search on 'password" finding the IP address to place in a new browser window address. I selected the "Basic Settings" menu then selected the password option and over-wrote the ************ showing is the Admin section and User section. Got ride of the (unsecured) indication on my icon. It was bothering me to death also. Hope this helps. firstname.lastname@example.org

first, make sure that cables are properly seated between the phone jack and to your modem, between modem to your router, and between router to your computer
second, access the software for your router
third, configure the wireless settings for your computer and to your router
fourth, check if your wireless settings is configured by disabling the Local Area Connection
if successful unplugged the cable connecting your router to your computer
if unsuccessful please inform me immediately.

check to see if the MACaddress has been registered with the router and then this has to be solved
check the security settings for WEP /WPA
also check to see if you would require DNS Server settings and any proxy to connect
