Hello. If the water valve does not turn to open or close or it is liking, then it is a problem.

Hello I have a whirlpool side by side model # ed5jhaxml00. The ice maker stopped working, I still have water in the door. I replaced filter and is still not working. Any Ideas?

Hard to know exactly without being there on the spot but the link will provide good information on how they work. Your fridge also has a dual water inlet valve. The door can provide you water while the ice maker can not receive water because of the second inlet valve.

SM 8525492A whirlpool washer rinse cycle no water comes out, just hums

when the washer goes into rinse cycle it only uses cold water so clothes don't rinkle,so most likey you have a problem with your cold water,do this, shut down the water to the washer, remove the water lines from the back of washer and mark them so you know how they came off, stick the hoses into the washer if they reach or a bucket, turn on the cold water to see if water is coming out of hose,if water does come out of hose good then stick the cold water hose back on the washer and run it only on cold,if it doesn't fill then you know you have a problem with the water valve on the washer and it's not the house water valve that's bad,and usually if you have a problem with the washer water valve it will just hum and no water will enter the washer so if you hear a humming sound it will be the water valve.tried looking up the model number you sent but it doesn't come up on the parts lookup

There is no water flowing to my ice maker but i do have water for drinking flowing

Check back behind the icemaker there is a plastic tube make sure is is not froze up...Observe the back of fridge there is a water line that goes from the water valve to the tube near the top check that it is attached and in good condition... There are 2 more things to check, the water valve, as the icemaker side may not be functioning... The next would be the ice-maker unit may have failed and not be powering the water valve as needed... If you can hook up a test cord to the valve and it works replace the icemaker unit... If the valve does not work replace the valve.
If I can help with anything else please let me know.

Need to know how diverter works and which way insert in same shou

Hi,

When you pull on the handle a flap or little valve blocks the flow of water to the spout, making it run to the shower head
Long story short, since I've spent the entire day at different hardware stores, and websites looking for the answer, and figured it out... before taking the advice of so many and replacing the entire spout..
The little black rubber washer is the value. When water pressure pushes against the hole, it actually pushes this black valve out just enough to stop the water from flowing, and the water flows to the shower head. If water is pouring out, try cleaning this black valve with toothpaste, as someone on another website recommended, and reinsert the valve. But don't push it all the way in. Water need to get behind this valve in order to function properly.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

No water during cycle

Check water valve if you know electricity you can test with 110 directly on water valve & see if water comes out or check valve with ohm meter.
Check water level switch this switch must work to feed power to water valve. Voltage also must go through timer. Timer last thing to check (rare).

Ice maker OK but water will not work? Whirlpool Estate TS25AF

hmmm, the only really way you will know if your water valve is working for the door is to jump it direct. unplug the machine get the valve out un do the line that goes to the door to the valve put a glass under the valve and jump it... if water then you have a door/control board issue.... no water than u need to replace water valve.

No water to ice maker

There is a electric valve to only let so much water at a time ,and each time it dumps the ice that valve opens and lets more water in. The water line from the valve to ice freezing tray could be frozen or pluged. There is a switch when the ice is dropped it turns on the water valve.

Water dispenser won't work

Could be a bad micro switch or the bracket that holds it in place is broken. Could be a bad water valve. In some rare cases could be a wiring problem. If you know how, you can check to see if your getting power to the water valve when trying to get water. If you have power and no water then the valve is bad. It's a dual valve. If no power to the valve then it's likely something to do with the microswitch or wiring.
