My Ryobu RYO8554 only runs when it is in the carb lever is in the start position. ANy use of the throttle kills the engine. been that way since I bought it.
Thanks

Hi, if you have the lever in start that means the carb is choked. If you are only able to run the engine when the choke is on, then it is starving for fuel. First, make absolutely sure you have the right fuel mixture, then try to start the engine. If the mix is correct, then your carb is out of adjustment. Find the two screws that adjust the high and low idle on the carb. Turn the low idle one quarter turn counter clockwise and try to start the engine again. This adjustment will allow for more fuel to deliver into the cylinder. (adjust more if needed). The high idle may also be out of adjustment, so tune this screw with the throttle on high (and running) until you hear the transition between the high rumbling sound and the high even sound this point is you high idle.
Good luck
