How do I replace the cartridge on my 157074R-ST. I'm a little handy, but I have a bad back. Can the repair be completed without going underneath the sink?

This is an easy job.

The only thing to do under the sink is to turn the water off.

The hard part is finding the replacement cartridge (Blanco #2408).

Once you do that, simply remove the handle (undo the set screw in the front, below the temperature indicator,) and remove the lock nut that holds the old cartridge in place.

Lift the old cartridge straight up and out, put the new one in its place, and replace the nut and handle. The whole job will take you ten minutes, from start to finish. (Remember to turn the water back on.)

I've attached a parts breakdown:

I am getting extremely faint sound from the left channel while playing vinyl. I have swapped all wires and cables left to right and back and the problem remains the same. The only thing I haven't tried is...

If you switch the cables so the left channel plays into the right of the amp and the sound stays dead in the left channel of the amp it's not the cartridge that is at fault by your amp. Amps have a magnetic cartridge pre-amp built into them for turntables. This can go faulty, but won't effect any other device (CD etc). Most of these pre-amps are a single IC. Which will need to be replaced.

My laptop is working fine, but part of the screen on the right side is black, like it's out. The whole screen went out before and had to replace some little thing,, (video inverter , maybe?) it's...

From your description they replaced the inverter board to fix the problem. When you had it repaired was the right side dark when you got it back? because if it was they are responsible for making right. If the problem was fixed, it still could be the inverter board or a bad back light that is going, if it is the back light most technicians will not attempt this repair because you have get in behind screen which is not meant to be taken apart. "a very tricky repair that requires solder work" They will usually opt to replace the complete LCD display to correct the problem.

Lack of use...dried out cartridges...replaced, ran "deep clean" utility and still won't print recommendations?

can you remove the print head? If so run it under warm water for a little bit and then dry it off but becareful if the circuit board on the back if it has one. Once completely dried off reinstall it and run the deep clean again.

My Dell 5100cn is putting magenta all over pages with a little red. There are darker, bar-like areas. BW pages get a faint covering of magenta. Any idea what's wrong or what to test?

Yes...carefully pull the majenta cartridge out and inspect it. Does it look like its leaked? Pull the shutter back and see if there is excess toner on the drum. My experience based on what you've said here is the cartridge may be going bad or experiencing "blowback". Blowback is when the waste side of the cartridge gets to full and it starts coming back out over the cartridge drum. If you have you're old cartridge still handy put that one back in and run a few pages and see if it clears up. Hope this helps!

Epson Stylus CX5400 - Printing is bad even after Head cleaning!

Before replacing the print head on the printer try these steps , and if the printer get long without printing the changes of ink getting dried id high and resulting streaky printing or missing ink on the paper even if the ink is detected by the printer ...

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Toner sensor error after replacing cartrige...

Hopefully this will clear up a little confusion I had:

1. Follow instructions for replacing toner cartridge.
2. Remove drum from printer. Take care not to handle the drum surface. Look for a small rectangular window or depression. The window will be completely or partially blocked by a flap.
3. Use a fine pointed instrument to move the flap up, so that the sensor underneath is visible.
4. Replace the drum. The error should clear after the print engine has reset.

Gaggia titanium leaking underneath

Andy15 - Thanks - you encouraged me to do this myself.   I made a video as I did my repair.  The video making was more work than the replacement of the steam valvle.   Please check out my video if you have have to make the same repair.   Also - the technical support from WholeLatteLove was great.

Gaggia titanium leaking water underneath

i had this same problem. the solution is simple if you are a little bit handy.
there is a bad valve inside. i called Whole Latte Love where i bought the machine and ordered a Steam Valve complete - Compact Frame
its part number GA-%0345.R and two O-Rings

the valve that comes with the machine is plastic and the new one is a brushed metal casing. my guess it will last for 10 years!

two screws on the back and the machine is open
near the front, by the steam wand, with a hose attached coming from the heater, is the valve, attached to the knob on the side
two more screws and the valve wrapped in a plastic housing comes out.
open the plastic housing, remove the insulated hose to the steam wand and the water/steam plastic hose that comes in. replace the valve, hook up the two hoses, but back in housing and you're done. attach back to knob on the outside, put back together and in 30 minutes, the Titanium is like new. no leaks.

it sounds daunting but is pretty easy and beats sending the machine back for repair. i can't go a morning let alone a month without coffee from my Gaggia. once repaired, the coffee is hotter too.
