Hesitation rough idle

When saw is warmed up good cutting wood it hesitates when pulling triger slitly somtimes will stall

I think the small holes from the Venturi wall of the carb are clogged.To clean them you need carb disassembly.Near the needle there is a tehnological cover,under the diafragm(fuel pump).Taking off it you will see some small holes maiking conection with Venturi wall.Used ompresed air to clean them.

Sounds like you have dirt/debris in your caburetor jets,fuel passages or a diaphgram that is becoming non-flexible.
Check/Clean/Replace your Air Filter, a dirty air filter can make your engine run to rich with fuel.
Note: ALWAYS USE COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN YOUR JETS AND PASSAGES, VERY IMPORTANT.
Note:Before you disassemble the carburetor:
Write down on a piece of paper or take a picture of how the linkage attaches to your carburetor for later reference when you go to reinstall your carburetor.
Mark each piece with a awl, or some kind of instrument that will make an alignment scratch before you disassemble the carburetor into separate pieces.
That way you will know which way it goes back together when you reassemble it.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or by using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that, and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Be sure to check your fuel tank for water and dirt/debris, if there is water/debris then you need to clean your tank.
Check you fuel line condition after a while they will degrade and need replacment.
Check/Clean/Replace your fuel filter if you have one, normally they are located in the fuel tank of chainsaws.
When you remove your fuel lines from the carburetor be sure to make a drawing to how the lines are connected to the carburetor.
Normally the big line will be the line the fuel filter is connected to inside of the tank.The smaller of the two lines is the return to the fuel tank from the carburetor after it is pumped thru the carburetor by the primer bulb.
Make sure you are using fresh fuel...and oil mix if your using a two cycle chainsaw with the oil to the right mixture and not too much oil as it can cause hard starting.
If the chainsaw is over a couple of years old, then I recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit,because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
The diaphgram may look good and flexible, but it can be deceiving and not act as a fuel pump as it should because it has become too hard and will cause hard starting,start and run and shut off, etc.
When you clean your carburetor, I recommend that you use a laquer thinner type cleaner to clean and dissolve the laquer build-up in the float and needle jet passages.
Be sure to remove all plastic and rubber parts before using the laquer thinner because it can dissolve the plastic parts and render them unuseable.
Be sure to use COMPRESSED AIR to blow out all the fuel and air passages.The higher air pressure is needed to blow some of the trash/debris from the fuel or air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Keep in mind that the float (if you have one) for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instructions you get with the carburetor kit, or you could also ask the parts man that you get your kit from.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.
But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.
Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.
That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their original position before you started.
Note:
The little spring inside of the carburetor goes under the float arm.
That is where your fuel inlet needle/float valve is located...on the arm at the end.
Normally there is a small indetion in the carburetor base and a small protrusion on the underneath of the float arm where the spring will be in the right postion for installation.
The spring will set in the indention and you will install the float arm with the needle/float valve and float rod into position over top of the spring,you will push down until it is in position and then you can tighten the screw that holds the float arm assembly in position.
Once you have your carburetor cleaned/rebuilt that should solve your problem.

Hesitation on acceleration rough idle


There is a Service Bulletin to address the stumbling off idle. Your dealer can perform the SB for you and will prevent the problem.

Generally this is a fuel / air ratio problem. Usually it can be solved by a carb adjustment. On the carb there are usually two screws, one marked low or L , the other marked high or H. Low is your adjustment for idle mixture, high is for mixture at full throttle. The saw should Always be adjusted to run well during the cut. Make adjustments a little at a time, then try The saw. Continue small adjustments untill the saw is performing well at full throttle while Cutting.

Fuel mix and slow/fast running jet ajustment Dolmar sach 119. starts easy wont pull under load.


Set both the high and low speed screws from lightly seated to 1 1/4 turns out. This will give you a rough setting that will allow the saw to start and idle. Set the idle screw to where the chain just stops moving at idle.
With the saw warmed up adjust the low speed screw out until the saw smokes a bit and acceleration is sluggish. Bring the screw in small steps until the hesitation is gone from the acceleration...you may need to adjust the idle again after this.
Now hold the throttle wide open and while it is wide open adjust the high speed screw in until the noise becomes smooth and the saw "sings". Do not leave it at this setting as it will burn down in short order. Once the saw is singing back the screw out until you can hear the saw's tone "roughen"....then back the screw out a tad more for good power / fuel under load.

The chain saw runs okay until i start to cut wood on higher revs then it cuts ouy


Does it run O.K. with high revs. with no load, but dies when you start to cut (load) ? If that is the case your carb. needs to be adjusted and that is difficult to put into words. Without knowing what make of carb you have because they can change from year to year, and also depends on the model. Without knowing make of carb I suggest you try to turn the L (low) and H (high) needles in (clockwise) until they are lightly seated so you don't damage the needle or seat. Now turn them both out (counterclockwise) one turn as a start. Start your saw to let it warm up now rev it up it should not hesitate or run rough while reving up. If it does turn low needle out 1/4 turn or more if needed until it does not hesitate. (turning any needle out will let in more gas turning in less gas) If you get this far good idling and reving up, now adjust high needle the same way. With high needle you can also try turning it in. keep on adjusting needles in or out in small increments until it runs right. If you cannot get it running right after all this, you probably need a carb overhaul, just a cleaning or carb kit if diaphrams are stiff or damaged. I hope this helps you. Engine rough idles and hesitate on take off after engine has reached normal operating temp.


Check all the vacuum hoses to the large black intake tube.the crank case breather tube used to come off, causing rough idle, stalling and hesitation.

When engine is warmed up the car begins hesitating


I really think it's the TPS, (throttle positioning sensor) on the throttle body. When this sensor is defective or out of position the vehicle will idle like that and even stall. If you haven't had it scanned, you should do so, that will probably tell you the problem.
