Question about Computers & Internet
I'm trying to connect my Acer Aspire V5 14" laptop to my Viewsonic N3246w TV using a HDMI cable. the video comes perfectly fine however the sound doesn't work. Even though in control panel my laptop says the sound has been switched from the laptop speakers to the TV
I have had this problem before and all you have to do is click on the sound button on the task bar (bottom Left) and click 'mixer', make sure that the sound is coming to the TV and if it is still not working try moving the HDMI cable in a circle while it is still connected to the TV and the laptop/computer. Hopefully it should then make sound but if the problem still persists try restarting the laptop/computer and/or TV. The cable might be broken so if the steps above to not work try getting a new HDMI cable and make sure it is plugged in properly into the TV and the laptop/computer. Hope this helps.

After you connected the HDMI Cable to the TV...Did you press the FN + F4 Key on the keyboard... The first screen you will see is the notebook screen is blank and the TV has got the desktop on top of it...The second time you press the FN + F4 then you will see thedesktop on the notebook and as well as the TV...The third time you press the FN+F4 you will see the desktop on the Notebook...

you should be able to right click on an empty space on your desktop and choose graphics properties and then the output option should be able to be set and the resolution changed if needed, set your tv for AV3 or s video and connect a seperate audio cable as s video is video only
