Question about Cell Phones

1 Answer

The KX TDA30 problem is that it powers off sometimes several times a day. The red alarm light does not come on. If we up plug the power, then plug it back in again, or turn the power switch off and then on again, it will reprogram itself and then work for a while.

Once we unplug and plug it back it, everything seems to work fine and sometimes for several days, then (like today) it has gone off 3 or 4 times. Thanks

  • donevans739 Jun 19, 2009

Thanks very much. I remember programming it when it first came,--is this something I can do again, or is this something that has to be done elsewhere?

Thanks for a prompt and understandable reply

HI, this is the direct result of core programming failure. the core program in corrupt and, the entire main board should be reset and re coded. the power cycle will be affected as well.

This unit will need to be sent back to the manufacture for this repair. You may be able to receive core service at your local providers sales terminal. i would contact the nearest retailer for repair details if possible.

Yes, this issue will progress. the remaining program is functioning at this point because of the reboot you are initiating. this reboot will not work soon because, the core program will eventually become completely corrupt., in return, rendering the phone useless. it will need to be reprogrammed soon.

The corruption will reach a level to the point that , the reboot will not be able to initialize itself. if you allow this fault to totally corrupt the core programming, it will destroy the main board. this will require a total board transplant. this will be an expensive repair. the reprogramming is a bit cheaper. its best to get this serviced while the board is still operational.

We recommend using the service tech route when dealing with this type of electrical issue. the control unit is housed within the control panel and, there are many wires that are joined by a harness that will need to be replaced correctly.

It will require some moderate dismantling of the panel as well during extraction. this can be a tough and challenging job for a non experienced do it yourselfer.

I apologize for the confusion. that response was directed to another issue that is on my board. please disregard the above post.

Concerning your phone and core fault. this issue is best handled by the manufacture. the core programming will need to be re coded and, loaded on the main board by the manufacture or , local repair depot.

Since, this was due to massive corruption, the main board will need to be wiped and, re coded.

Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, Blown Fused F850+F852

Solved by resoldering some solder joints!!!!!!!
********
Toshiba Model 57H81 Rear Projection TV - Purchased 11-09-2001

Problem: Toshiba 57H81 Flashing Red Power Light, No Picture/Sound, Blown Fuses F850 + F852

Symptoms January, 2009:

  • Upon turning on set I got flashing red power light and nothing else.
  • Removing plug for one minute and plugging in results in:
    • Audible click, steady red power light for 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
    • Pushing power button results in steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light, no other set activity
  • Removing power cord for several hours and plugging back in made no change
    • Audible click, steady red for about 2 seconds then slow flashing red light
  • Possible related note: Over past several months occasionally the entire screen would flicker momentarily and at other times be problem free for weeks.
  • Fuses F850 and F852 found blown

Repairs Made:
  • PD0074 DEF/CON Power Board
    • There are two main power supply capacitors in this set. They are C-809 and C-810. One their negative lead on the printed circuit board re-soldered leads and nearby contacts. I’m told that because the factory left out a printed circuit board eyelet, the connection will come loose over time. When I called Toshiba customer service they said there was a known solder joint problem causing blinking red light.
    • Replaced blown fuses F850 and F852.
      • I actually installed a fuse panel on the inside of the cabinet and routed the fuse connections here instead of ordering the special fuses and replacing them on the circuit board.
      • Had to use a 5 Amp SLO-BLOW for F850. Fast blow does not survive power up. Get the red blinking light.
      • Used a fast blow 2 Amp for F852.
  • PD0073 SIGNAL Board
    • Re-soldered Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps
    • Re-soldered adjacent pads that looks suspicious

Total Cost to Repair about $10
  • Twelve hours of my time over three days to research issue, disassemble set, make repairs, add fuse panel.
  • Already owned Service Manual and Circuit diagrams from a different 2004 repair.
  • Less than ten dollars at Radio Shack for fuses and fuse panel. Already had wires, etc.
  • Some solder. Already owned de-soldering tools, etc.
  • Visited both local authorized Toshiba factory service repair facilities. One said repair would have to include replacing Q751 + Q752 STK392-110 Convergence Amps with ST392-180, and realigning set for a total of $500+ and it would be more if they had to order a power board. NO THANK YOU! Other shop said $65 for site visit and $30 to make an estimate that could be applied to repair.

PANASONIC KX-TG2258 E3 ERROR CODE

This method worked for me!! you guys should try this.

i've copy this review from amazon.

by Kane Doerfler

"After a brief power outage from a thunder storm, I also experienced an e3/lights blinking error. I unplugged the phone and plugged it back in several times to no avail. After doing this a couple of times unsuccessfully, I hit the "STOP" button on the base immediately after plugging it in (before it completed booting up to show the "e3 message")and it reset itself and now works fine (or as well as it did prior to the e3). Try it before tossing yours in the garbage"

thanks to Kane. I saved my phone~!!
