Question about Sony Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I turn on my sony vaio laptop, can use the keyboard to enter password, but once it gets into windows the keyboard does not respond. No keys work, but they make a slight beep noise when pressed. Kinda odd that it works to use my windows login password and stops after it gets to my desktop.

At all? anything caught underneth them? Unsnapping keys is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Give that a try. if it's still not working check your device manager to be sure.

How do i restoe it with out cd

If you Have not Wipe out your Hard drive then here is the steps
1.Restart your Sony Vaio if it is already on. If it's off, turn it on.
2.Press the F12 key on your Sony Vaio keyboard. This will enter the computer into the built-in restore mode. Note that depending on the model of Sony Vaio, you may have to press either the F11 key or the ESC key to enter this restore mode. This must be done before your operating system begins to load. If you see the Windows logo appear on screen, you'll have to restart and try again.

And Follow the instruction on the Screen

Try this solution to your problem.

Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

On my Toshiba Satellite Laptop I have opened and started the computer but can't get past the sign in window because my enter key and space bar won't respond. I can type letters but can not enter...

> hardware problem or software or keyboard?

Experiment #1: turn the computer off. Connect a USB keyboard. Turn the computer on. Use that keyboard to try the 'TAB' key (to move from field-to-field). If TAB works, then try using the SPACE or ENTER keys.

Experiment #2: turn the computer off. Turn the computer on, and look for the message:

PRESS <blah> to ENTER BIOS SETUP

When you see the message, press the <blah> key. On the BIOS SETUP menus, try the ENTER key to "select" a field, to prove that the ENTER key works fine.

Experiment #3: Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC power. Remove the battery.
Remove the disk-drive. Take the original CD/DVD disk, and start to install Windows to the disk-drive. As you work through the installation screens, you'll need to press ENTER at least once,
if only to acknowledge that installation cannot proceed, because the disk-drive is not connected.
If the ENTER key works, it works.

Experiment #4: Like #3, but connect a different, empty, disk-drive, and reinstall Windows.
If it completes, then your "original" setup has a SOFTWARE problem.

I tried to set a password on my Belkin router. But then lost internet connection. I disabled the password. Now one laptop is accessing the internet, and my iPhone. But my Sony Vaio will not access the...

If it a problem of the router password then you boot up the laptop and run IE. In the address windows type 192.168.1.1 and press enter. You will be asked the admin ID and password. Enter that. Then only would you be allowed to change something. Once you have logged into your router then select Security->WEP Key. here you will get an option to see the password in clear. Select this option and the password for the internet connection will be available to you. No that you know the password. Boot up the Sony Vaio and when asked for password, use this password and start surfing.
