Question about KitchenAid Superba Architect KSCS25INSS Side by Side Refrigerator

How do I replace the Icemaker Ice Stripper Arm on my KitchenAid side-by-side refrig? Cannot see how it attaches on the left side. This white ice stripper part is a little over nine inches long.

    Eric,

I finally got around to replacing the Ice Stripper. After taking off the front cover there was also a 1/4" hex screw underneath that held on the right side cover that shields the electrical wiring. What you say after removing the cover got me through the project. Then did everything backwards.

For those that attempt this repair, I absolutely recommend that you unplug the refrigerator before disconnecting the electrical harness to the icemaker module. I got a minor tickle of a shock due to the dampness in the freezer compartment...My bad!

    Many thanks Eric.

Remove the IM assembly from the freezer. Take off the front cover and there will be 3 screws to remove the module. Behind that are 2 screws , loosen them untill you can get the stripper arm out.

KUIC15PLTS ice maker keeps making Ice even though it is FULL

The high level sensor can get iced up and stop working. using a hare dryer carefully heat the area that the lensing arm goes into or snap off the front cover of the ice maker and blow warm air in there. raise and loser the arm at the same time. a couple of minutes should do it.

Ice maker is not working

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig maybe frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

Icemaker not working- red light flashes constantly

The red light should flash twice , pause then flash twice constantly . If you close the flap on the left side , then the light should go off . This shows the optics (ice maker cut off ) are good .

Check the black tube ( fill tube ) , which puts water into the ice maker , to see if it is iced inside . If so , then the water valve behind the refrig is bad . It seeps into the tube and freezes , blocking the water flow .

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it freezes and dumps , then the water valve needs replaced . If it doesn't dump , and stays frozen in the ice maker , replace the ice maker . Also , make sure the coils under the front of the refrig are clean , as this will cause warmer temp in the freezer and the ice maker needs 5 degrees to operate .

Ice maker makes too much ice

In my Kitchen Aid bottom freezer there is a metal arm(?) that I lift up to stop the ice maker from making ice. When I start running low on ice, I push the metal arm(?) back down for it to make ice again. Hope this is the solution for your Kitchen Aid too.

i would recommend a technician to help you with this. this part that fell out is from the motor head off the icemaker. have the technician put it back together and make sure that there is nothing else loose.

Your motor module is bad on the ice maker. It is located on the left side when mounted in the refrigerator. It is under the White Cover over the end. It is brown in color. To verify the correct problem, the ice stripper arm in the ice maker that turns and pushes the ice out of the mold, should be pointing up towards you when it is in the mounted in the refrigerator. I call it the 2 O'clock position. If the ice stripper arm is pointing another direction, it is broken. I sell the module on Ebay as username, themackshack. My parts are genuine factory parts. Good luck!, Mack
