I Would suggest that you check the ink and see how much you still have. If you have lots then i would try running it through the cleaning program and see if this helps it at all. Also If you do get it to work normally, you should be aware that inkjet printers need to be used weekly . If you let them sit to ling then the ink on the jets dries out, and and can clog up the jets to the point that the printer is useless.

place the printer cartridge into a small amount of water to make sure the yellow is flowing out. Let me know what this finds and try it again if yellow comes out.

I have a severe shadow on the screen in all colors.

Hey there,
Your issue is related to the small chip inside the Tv, I believe they are called the light engine. It is a small plastic frame with what looks like a graduated glass pane in the middle. Over time this begins to show its age and amount of use by casting the shadow to which you refer. For some it appears as yellowing in spots. It is replaceable but should only be done by those with the right skill and tools. Maybe double the cost of the lamp or a little more depending on Brand.

Yellow ink will not print

On the Brother MFC series printers it uses remote ink trays as you will know, instead of having print heads directly on the ink cartridge. Whilst this approach makes it cheaper to produce the ink, and easier to change the cartridge, it can make it difficult to clear clogs.

There are several things you can do which may help, but B. and C. are at your own risk. All steps assume you have a new yellow ink cartridge.

A. In paint or another program, create a full page yellow image and keep printing it out. See if it gets any better after each print. If it does, continue until it seems to be working fine.

B. If you can manage to get to the print head, you can get a cue tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol and gently clean the print head. Leave 20 minutes to dry, and then do step A. again.

C. (AS A VERY LAST RESORT AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS IS GOING TO RUIN YOUR YELLOW INK CARTRIDGE SO USE AN OLD YELLOW ONE IF YOU CAN) If steps A. and B. fail, you can put a "little" rubbing alcohol in the Yellow Ink Cartridge, and keep trying step A. If Yellow starts printing again, swap to a yellow cartridge that does not have rubbing alcohol in it. You are now going to have to cycle through many pages to clear the rubbing alcohol from the ink lines.

Note that if you keep cleaning the cartridges, it is going to use a lot of ink, and may actually hinder solving your yellow ink problem.

Good uck

Color mismatch

This is kind of hard to diagnose with just what you list. However there are a few things you can do to test it further.
What I usually do is open up Microsoft paint (start-all programs-accessories- the click on paint)
Then make a small box and print the 3 primary colors plus black (red, blue, yellow) see if all three colors print. My guess is only one will print (blue) if this is the case then the ink cartridge is most likely dried up or defective. Also if you have not printed something in a very long time this can also cause the cartridge to dry up. Again this is based on a guess that I think your cartridge might be dried up. However it can be a number of other items.
Also some printers have there own test pages you can run that can also tell you what colors are working and what colors are not.
Thanks again
Hope this helps you out a little bit.
Steven.

Brother 2040 yellow toner light on & won't print. Toner just replaced 8 weeks ago. Printer purchased 6 months ago.

You have a one year warranty with Brother if you need repair. You might shake the toner, or put a small electrical tape over the little round windows on the toner cart. to use the rest of the toner, and press the go button 3 times to print the report that tells you how many prints you've made, you could just be out of toner again...

How to Override Ink Level Gauge When Using Refilled Cartridges

Above link great.
If you have a newer print cartridge cart, look for the little window. I put a sticker over the little window on the Brother (innobella) LC38 cartridge cart and it worked great :)
Despite finding a fix for this problem, I think this is a rip off setting on the brother printers and I will never buy another Brother printer for this reason.
