How to remove the salt cell from the system

turn off pumping system and close flow valves (if present). turn off power to duoclear system. remove the cap from salt electrode (press on). if it is hard to remove, that is good. wiggle it a bit and it will come off. unscrew the retainer ring on electrode. the electrode is now ready to be removed. lift it straight out of the housing. sometimes, the trap door on housing will get stuck in the electrode. this is a real pain. do not force the unit out. you have to take a bent wire and while lifting the electrode out of housing, use the wire to push the door closed (toward the nature2). once this is done, the electrode should lift out easily.

When you tourn on the super chlorinate button, does it turn itself off?

To properly start up the system, add the salt, let circulate for 6 hrs then turn on the generator. running with extremely low salt can damage the unit. you will need a minimum salt reading of 4000 ppm with the duoclear.
when you activate the superchlorinate feature, the electrode will run at 100% for 24 hrs and then revert to the regular programmed level.

My intex salt water system alarm goes off and code 90 is flashing and there is little flow. If I take out the type A filter to the pump that came with my Ultra Frame above ground pool, the flow is...

What you need to do is either clean out the filter cartridge or replace it with a new one. If you have a spray nozel for your hose you can clean the cartridge by adjusting the nozel so it is a small but strong stream. Run the stream up and down on the cartridge until all the area has been covered and then install it in the system. If you still have little flow then you should replace the filter cartridge.

I hope this helps.

My Intek salt water system is giving me a low water flow error. I know there is adequate flow. How can I correct it?

How does one know if the water flow is adiquit?
you can not just hold your hand at the discharge and say this is good enough.
I would start with turning off the system and cleaning the filter cartridge with a strong garden hose.
Now remove the ring that holds the sensor in and remove and clean it with the hose make sure it swings freely

now check at the front of the pump where the in tube connects
there is a plastic sort of screen molded into the motor
debris and hair gets lodged there that the skimmer doesnt catch or just goes to if you dont skim
Put every thing back together

open all bleeder caps except the one at the bottom of the cartridge case

open disharge tube first and wait ti'll water comes out the bleeders
now open the inlet tube
now turn pump on
wait 30 seconds and close the bleeders

This should do it for you

Low flow

If your pool has a skimmer system there is a hose from the bottom of the skimmer going to the suction port that goes through the pool wall. Disconnect the hose off of the blue adapter and unscrew the blue adapter there is a screen / strainer right there whatever gets pass the skimmer basket gets plugged up in that screen.

I am not an expert on the Duoclear but I have had mine for 5 years and have not had any problems. This unit and all salt water systems will not generate chlorine when the water temperature is below 65 degrees f. I am not saying that this is why yours is not generating chlorine, just commenting in case you were unaware.

Low water flow

Low water flow is generally and indication that the filter is dirty / clogged. Remove the filter cartridge and see if the light goes out. Replace the filter if required.

You problem is not the salt unit, your problem is PUMP related. You are getting good enough water flow. Check the pump as well as the filter. remove the filter cartridge and try the system without it. If the problem goes away then wash your filter and retest. If the problem comes back replace the filter cartridge. If the problem remains without the cartridge in place, you have a blockage in the plumbing which is preventing proper water flow.

DuoClear 20 can't get salt light to go out unless

I have a Duoclear 25 for 3 years now. The unit has been nothing but trouble. I too have a low salt light even when the pool is tested at 4500ppm. 4500ppm for our taste is too high. The main board has been replaced for erroneous errors and now one year later the salt cell generator is non functional. The quality is poor. Furthermore most pool stores don't even know how the nature 2 works and alwasy recommend chemicals that are harmful. The company Clearwater has poor customer service.

I have the zodiac duoclear system and have used it for nearly two years. All in all, it's a very good system. I have had similiar issues on occassion. Have you tried the master reset button on the lower right hand face of the control board? I've been able to clear up the lights by resetting the system.

If the salt content in the pool is not correct, the system will not allow you to superchlorinate. Your salt level should be at 4000 ppm. The add salt light is programmed to come on if the system gets below 3600 ppm. When the system is below 4000 ppm, it is unable to generate the chlorine needed. The lower the salt, the less you can chlorinate. Might not be your problem, but I've run into this before too.

The lights for replacing your cartridge puzzle me. I'm making an assumption that your pool is probably dirty if you're trying to superchlorinate. The dirtier the water, the faster the electrode in the cartridge will get covered in scale from the current and conversion process. Try cleaning the new cartridge by placing it in a bucket with a 75% water and 25% muratic acid mix. Let it soak for a few minutes and gently swirl it around in the mixture. This will clean the contacts in the cartridge.

Keys with the Duoclear system: Salt content and clean the filters regularly. Don't know if this will solve your problem or not, but good luck.
