Question about GE Profile PFS22 33" Artica French Door Refrigerator w/ 22.2 Cu. Ft. Capacity, ClimateKeeper System ...
I have a Samsung RS253BABB- a side by side. A small pool of water builds up on the bottom of the refrigerator side under the vegetable drawer and then leaks on to the floor. My unit is 3 years old There is a "vent" in the back of the drawer and the water filter is also on that side of the unit. Maybe the water is coming from either of those places? I have not ever changed the water filter. Please let me know if you have any solution.

your condenser fan may have gotten stopped up with ice. You can try to open the freezer door and push the door buttons while the compressor is running and you should be able to hear the fan running in the freezer compartment. If not you can try to completely defrost the machine by unplugging it and letting it sit for a day, you can speed that up by putting a hair dryer on low and point it at the cold air outlets. If it does it the next day you can pull the condenser fan. usually the whole back plate in the freezer has to come out and then the fan is right there. try spinning the blades by hand , should turn easy, you can try oiling it but it should be replaced, you can order it at the appliance store, take it with you. be careful while you have that inner cover off as the coils are sharp and fragile.

There's a drain hole in the freezer side behind the bottom drawer in the back wall that must be clogh ; put hot water into it untill melted the ice and keep pouring water to clean the drain (don't worry , the water goes to an evaporative tray) .Keep the drain clean by putting every 3/4 months half a cup of clorox or bleach.

SOURCE: refrigerator freezer leaking
your defrost drain is frozen or has algae blocking it its at the back of the freezer behind the evaporator cover. You can see it without removing the evaporator cover. You might or might not see the drain hole because of the ice now you can sit and poor hot water on it till it thaws then get a thin wire and run down the tube till its clear or sit there with a hair drier and thaw it .But if you don't mind a small investment ill tell you the best way to deal with it .Go to Lowe's or some where like that and buy you a eureka model 350 hand held steamer.Trust me it will be one of the best investments you'll ever make. You will find 1001 uses for it besides this and the steam will not damage your refrigerator and all the attachments make it very useful.remove the evaporator cover and take the steamer and melt the ice under the evaporator where the drain pan is. Then you will see the drain hole.Put the curved tip on the steamer an start clearing the drain hole now when you get it melted enough to where the curved tip makes a seal around the drain hole let the steam build then hold down the trigger till you hear it at the back of the refrigerator and your done put the evaporator cover back on then think of all the other uses for that steamer now I told whirlpool about it they tested it and now have it posted on their web site that will fix it easy. I hope this is good enough for a four box rateing lol

Hi Matt, Hi Dar(lene)?
Super easy fix. Your defrost drain is blocked by what we in the biz affectionately refer to as "Bio-Gookus", so every time the fridge goes into defrost, the newly melted water has no place to go other than the bottom of your fridge. Gravity is what gravity is, ya know?
My bet is that it's clogged up at the drain funnel located in the refrigerator/beer compartment. If I'm remembering right, it should be just to the left of the thermostat/control panel in the back. You should see a plastic cover there, remove it. See the "Bio-Gookus? Kinda gross, huh? All of that has to be cleaned out. Not only in the funnel but the tubing behind it as well.
After cleaning it (and putting the pieces back) your fridge will be happy again.
Hope this helps!
