Question about Olympus Stylus / mju 1040 Digital Camera
Help!!! i dropped my girlfriends phone on the floor when i took the memory card out and the little latch has snapped off, is this an easy fix ie super glue or would i have to get a spare part.... it looks like there is two small screws underneath but i feel heaps bad obviously any pointers would be great im in secret harbour WA australia if there is any camera guys i could get it fixed at... thanks !!!!
I have gotten terrible results using SUPER-Glue on
UNKNOWN types of plastics... (No...!!).
You would need to know PRECISELY what kind
of plastic ... Even then the results or often
less than CHARMING...
This is someone you are trying to make feel better...
I looked on the internet... eBay specifically
and whole cameras can be purchased here
(SF Bay area)... between $16 & $30 ... (US Dollars)
22results for olympus 1040 digital
My best advice is to look for a "donor" camera
(and make it like it never happened).
Go onto eBay and see who... & how cheaply
YOUR LOCAL Market area Olympus 1040 digits are going for...
Here.. There seem to be a couple of colour options.
All the best (good luck with this).

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

its the card not the camera.
i think you fingers have come into contact with the gold bits on the xd card.
try wipping the card and putting it in several times,if all fails buy your self an olympus 1gb xd card H TYPE.
the best compact of all time was the Olympus C-70 Zoom Camera which can be found 2nd hand over ebay.

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

YOU HAVE A BROKE SWITCH
THERE IS A VERY SMALL SWITCH BEHIDE A BATERY DOOR, JUST ABOVE A SIGN "PUSH TO EJECT" THIS SWITCH IS VERY SMALL AND YOU CAN NOT REPLACE SO WHAT YOU CAN DO IS, TAKE THE VERY SMALL SWITCH OFF (YOU WILL NEED TO USE A NAIL OR A NEEDLE TO REMOVE A SMALL PLASTIC SWITCH ) AND THEN STICK A SMALL PEACE OF METAL INSIDE OF THE HOLE (METAL TAPE WORKS GREAT) IT WILL BY PASS A SWITCH.
I USED TO BUY BAD CAMERAS ON EBAY FIX AND RESELL, ANY PROBLEM CONTACT ME KUNGLAO007@HOTMAIL.COM
