SOURCE: have 46 samsung dlp that has green lines all over

Red, green, or blue retrace lines ( a quote from "Notes on the Troubleshooting and Repair of Television Sets", found at http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/tvfaq.htm#tvrgbrlin )

Where only one color is showing, suspect an incorrectly adjusted individual background/bias control or bad part on the CRT neck board for that color.

  • Individual brightness/background/bias control(s) - mark setting of pot for the problem color and then see if a slight adjustment removes the retrace lines. See the chapter: "TV Adjustments". Of course, if this happened suddenly, the problem is not due to a misadjusted control though a dirty pot is possible - turn it back and forth - this might clean it and restore normal operation.
  • Component or connection on CRT neck board - insufficient voltage to or incorrect biasing of the video driver for this color can result in the CRT never totally blanking. Compare voltages and signals, and swap components between good and bad channels to confirm.
  • Blanking circuit - this may be a part of the video/chroma chip or separate. Check and compare waveforms of good and bad colors to determine if the blanking pulses are making it to the video output.
There is a slight possibility that a bad CRT may result in visible retrace lines. To eliminate this possibility:
  • Disconnect the filament - all evidence of a picture, raster, and retrace lines should disappear once the filaments/cathodes have cooled (15 seconds or so. If there are still visible retrace lines, the CRT is suffering from cold or field emission from someplace (may not even be the cathode).
  • Turn down the screen (G2) control on the flyback (usually). If one color remains no matter how you set the control, again there is some kind of weird emission from the CRT. However, if white/gray retrace lines remain, the problem may be in the screen supply.
(quote ends)

You will be greatly helped if you have a schematic for your TV set, and you may need to change some parts, clean some connector contacts and/or tweak settings inside the set, so remember the original settings before you tweak them...

Good luck

SOURCE: Optoma EP757 displays green image when input connected

I would suggest replacing the type of cable you are using. Changing the type of connection, such as S-Video or VGA or something other than what you are using, may resolve this issue as well. Because the splash screen comes up normal, this tells us that the issues lies not with the device but with whatever it is you are connecting it to. Comment back if this does not resolve the issue and we can move further.

Good Luck,

You're projector is most likely fine. Check your satellite box. Go to the menu and see how its set to display video. It may be trying to up-convert TV signals. Try different adjustments from there to see if you see any change.

How do I hook up a Sharp Bd-HP24Ua Aquos BD Player?

The only option you have is to connect it via Component cables (Red, Blue, Green) and analog audio cables (Red, White) to get an Analog HD 1080i at best picture and analog stereo sound. I have to tell you though, your BD player is better than your TV and by using it on this TV you are missing out on the unit's full potential of features. I would highly recommend you consider upgrading and if your're looking to save a few bucks and get an amazing picture, consider upgrading to a Mitsubishi DLP. They are as low as $799 for 60".

The picture on the screen is not square. one side is not the same length as the other 3.

either you have the keystone feature on, or the light tunnel is collapsing. go into the menu and reset the settings to factory default. if that doesn't help, adjust the keystone through the menu. if no change, replace the light tunnel.

Optoma dv10

Hook the coax line into a source with a built in tv tuner line a VCR or an LG DVD Player/Recorder.

Then run the connect the picture output from the source to one of the Optoma's picture inputs.

Use the source's remote control to flip channels.

If you want to use the Optoma's speakers too, then just run the audio outplugs into the Optoma's audio input. Done.
