it sounds like your compressor start capacitor is to blame ..to get to it the front plastic cover needs to be removed ..remove the control panel to see the capacitor ..its round or ovel /silver/ an wires hook to the top of it ..look to see if the top is bulging or leaking fluid ..this helps the compressor /fan /start ..let me know.. an good luck../joe/

Bought a used iPal and it only came with a european compatible plug. I bought a US converter. Plugged it in and can't make sense of it. The radio doesn't work. When off, there's no green light....

If the radio has a European-style plug, it's probably expecting 220-volt power since that's their standard. If you got a plug adapter but not a voltage converter, the radio won't work because the line voltage is too low.

Check the radio for a ratings label which will tell you for sure what the radio expects. There may be a selector switch on the back which will let the radio work on our line voltage. Otherwise you'll need to purchase a voltage converter to use the radio.

My fridgedaire window unit A/C and heat won't come on. I had replaced an outside light fixture a couple of weeks ago and had turned off the circuit breaker that affected this unit too. Now the unit...

Plug a light into the outlet used for the A/C, if the light does not come on when reset then the circuit breaker that provided the power to the outlet need to be reset or replaced.

Directions on installing a catalytic converter

For optimum performance, the converter must be installed so exhaust flows through it in the proper direction. When laying beneath the vehicle with your feet towards the rear, the converter should be installed so the numbers stamped into it are readable.
s Random Technology Super Flow catalytic converters are designed to fit a variety of vehicles. Special adapters may be required or special air tube adapters may be required.
s If a converter with air tubes is installed on a vehicle not equipped with an air management system, both air tube fittings must be plugged.
s If a converter is installed on a vehicle with an air management system, one air tube elbow & one plug must be used.

Plug Installation
Determine which air tube fittings (if either) are to be used to make air connection in your application. (Plug the side away from the vehicle's air supply management system.) Plug the fitting(s) not used before installing converter.
plug%20inst%20ill.jpeg 1. As in Figure 1, place converter on a secure surface with air tube fittings up, being careful not to crush the converter body or heat shield.
2. Place plug(s) into airtube fitting(s). See Figure 2 for direction of plug.
3. With a hammer tap plug(s) into airtube fitting (s) until seated. The top of the plug(s) will be flush with the end(s) of the tube. See
Figure 3.
4. Crimp the end of the tube over the plug with pliers. Crimp in at least 4 places. See Figure 4.

Airtube Elbow Installation
The airtube elbow is installed on the same side of the converter as the
vehicle's air supply management system. The remaining tube should be plugged (See above). If your vehicle is not equipped with an air management system, both tubes should have been plugged.

After installing catalytic converter on the vehicle:

1. As shown in Figure 1, insert the airtube elbow into the converter's airtube fitting.
2. Position elbow in correct direction to connect air management system and secure either by welding or by using a small clamp.
3. Complete connection to the vehicle's air management system. (An airtube attachment kit may be required.)

My air conditioner just shut down like it has no power but the outlet has power. Is there a reset button or something? It's a Comfort Aire Model RAD-151-B

Many window units now have a GFCI plug. If the power cord, where it plugs into the wall, is huge, it should have a reset button on the face or side of the plug.

If not, then a power fuse on the control panel has blown, or the control panel has died.

Doesn't operate when plugged in

The test and reset is a GFCI device. They do go bad sometimes. The solution is to cut that plug end off, and install a regular cord end that is capable of handling the rated amperage of the unit. ( I assume this is 120-volt unit)

You should replace the wall receptacle with a GFCI receptacle where the unit is plugged in to prevent electrocution

Laptop speaker

You need to install the drivers for your soundcard. Try to find out what model of soundcard do you have and what version of Windows and try to search for the specific driver on the internet.
You can try these websites:
http://www.driverguide.com/
http://www.soft32.com/c/Windows/Drivers/2-52.html
Here's a tutorial on how to install a driver: http://www.totallydrivers.com/resources/directions_installation.asp
If you still can't hear sound try these steps, maybe it's not from your soundcard:
-Plug in the speakers
-Turn on the speakers.
-Turn-up the volume in Windows and on the speakers.
-Uncheck the mute checkbox in sound control panel.
-Verify a sound should be playing. In the Control Panel, play some Windows sounds. Play a music CD.
-Plug the speakers into the right hole on the sound card.
-Are the speakers plugged into the sound card and not the MODEM?
-Is the sound card installed correctly?
-Is the power converter for the speakers plugged into a wall outlet or surge protector?
-Is the power converter plugged into the speakers?
-Try other speakers or a head phone?
