Me too every time i turned on my xbox it did the exact same thing so please of you find a solution can you let me know. i read somewhere that it may be due to poor ventilation but my xbox is completely secluded to everything i tried putting it on its side since there's vents on the top and bottom thinking it would help but it didnt its drivin me crazy!!!!!

If you haven't already, try running a dvd cleaner through it a couple times. Usually clears it up for me.

cd drive error, if its an older xbox thats what it would be, either that or disk read error thing, i would suggest taking it in somewhere and have people look at it. or check the xox 360 games to see if there are any big scratches. that would be a big problem if there r scratches.

I know exactly what your problem is. I am huge nascar freak so you know i gotta have the games. Well it just so happens that i was playing on xbox live on my first month and have been hearing a lot of people saying how their console says the same thing well i looke for the answer. It turns out that after lots of playing for long periods of constant play time(3-8+)hrs. without freezing and getting any break at a time. Can sometimes put a ring some times invisible around the disc almost always permanently damaging the disc.

if you got your xbox 360 around when it first came out there was a mulfuction with the first ones out and 10000+ peoples xbox 360's did exactly what yours is doing. but u might be able to get it fixed at a computer store or game stores.

The disk is broken. Somewhere down the line it has worn down or been abused and now cannot be read correctly by your console. 

that happened to me it was the eye in the xbox console so i put in a cleaning disk and cleaned the game disk,.i had a very small scratch on the disk so i cleaned it well and i never had that problem again,. Hope it works

...strictly as, at at best. a long shot: according to a post I just read somewhere online about this HP MX 75, pressing AND HOLDING the + button on the monitor front and at the same time turning the monitor on and off repeatedly, may fix problems with this monitor.

Whenever mine wouldn't read disks i'd hit it a few times on the top face (lower left side above dvd drive), then turn it back on to see if it would read it. Sometimes i had to do it 5-10 times... and eventually it worked again for a few months.....

if that doesn't work I'd Call xbox 360 support and see if they will fix it for free (they are fixing the 'flashing red lights" error for free right now... possibly your disc read error). if they refuse to fix it for free and you don't feel like paying...... wrap the damn thing in a towel and power it on (keep it in eyesight as you don't want the towel to catch fire)...do it for like 10min-30min whenever you geta chance.... eventually the processor will over heat (due to lack of airflow and you will have three flashing red lights when you turn it on... and your 360 won't work at all.... (and microsfot WILL FIX THAT PROBLEM FOR FREE... and hopefully fix your drive too ... wink wink)

... of course... .wrapping your 360 in a towel (known as the "towel trick" will harm your xbox more... and i'm not taking responsibility for what happens to you or your xbox) might not be the best idea.... but it may just get you a free repair =)

Well, This happens alot, You could call the store you purchased it from to get a refund or a new disk, I think they should do this if you bought it from like sams club or walmart or somthing like that, It most likely is a Disk maulfuntcion
