Multiple sparks when igniting one burner

My 4 burner Viking range top has multiple sparks when igniting one burner and when it lights the others keep sparking for a few minutes. I had a repair man come and take a look and he said the module was bad so I spent $90 and replaced the part and it still has the same problem. I called Viking and they told me to clean the ignitor electrodes with a brush. That really didn't help either. I

Viking range burners won't light

from I review I found it might be this...Simple replacement of Glow Bar igniter requires removal of entire front panel with many screws
so sounds like your igniter might be shot - it heats up to ignite the burners - easy fix - get a long torch lighter and just light the gas after turning it on -

Viking gas stove top ignitors sparking incorrectly

all ignitors spark at the same time no matter which burner is turned on. If you are having trouble with one burner not lighting try cleaning around the ignitor with a small screw driver so the spark has a good path to ground.

Viking 6 burner range that keeps clicking after ignition

Spark ignition sparks until the flame starts. The flame ionizes the air between the igniter plug and the burner causing the small current to flow between the igniter and the burner. This shuts off sparking. But if there is a gap such as in the spark igniter under the porcelain, technically there still is a gap that the current has to jump and thus the stove keeps sparking. In my case changing the offending igniter plug fixed the problem.

Top left burner sparks, lights, but keeps sparking

Remove the burner cover so you can check the connections. If both connections are solid, the spark module is faulty and will have to be replaced. If the range is less than one year old it should be under warranty.

One burner will not spark for ignition.

The spark mod. needs to be replaced again. Check and make sure that the wires are connected to it good though and that they have a good connection. If all looks well though you will most likely need to replace that spark mod. again. Let me know if you have any other questions and if this was helpful. Good luck.

Viking professional 30 inch, sparking problem

If you have replaced the spark module with the new, blue PA020041 Tytronics 0+4 spark module, the physical positions of the leads that go to the burner igniters are reversed compared to the positions on the old, white module. Make sure that the switch wire for the burner and the position of the spark wire both go to the same burner! The positions are marked on the white label with green lettering.

Viking Range

The clicking is the electrode arcing. when the burner lights, a sensor tells the electrode to stop sparking after is heats up a little, that's why is clicks a little after the burner lights, but then stops. If the spark keeps going, the sensor is not registering the flame. The ones that do not click could be the ignite coil, the wire, or the electrode.
