Restart problem my thinkpad r32 wont boot after restart, and even in the bios utility configuration my laptop wont boot after restart.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

Can you enter the BIOS setup screen? Will the machine cold boot? There are two types of boots, cold and warm. Warm is when you simply tell the machine to reboot. A cold boot is when the machine is turned off completely, then you turn it on.

How to reset all settings to my lenovo a269i mobile thru pc

Is it a think pad ?
Power off your Thinkpad.
Press and hold the "F1" key and turn your Thinkpad on, still holding the "F1" key down.

Release the "F1" key when you hear repeating beeps. Wait for the "IBM BIOS Setup Utility" to load.

Select "Startup" using the arrow keys and press "Enter."
Select "Boot" or "Startup Sequence" and press "Enter."

Select "CD-ROM Drive."
Press the "F6" key repeatedly until "CD-ROM Drive" sits at the top of the list.

Insert your recovery CD into your Thinkpad's CD-ROM drive.
If you have multiple recovery CDs, insert the CD that has "Disc 1" on its label.

Press "F10" to save your changes and exit the BIOS Utility.
Select "Yes" and press "Enter" when the "Setup Confirmation" window appears.

Your laptop will restart. Wait for the Recovery Utility to load.

Select "Restore to Factory Specifications" to erase the contents of your hard drive and reinstall the Windows version and drivers that your Thinkpad originally came with.

Follow the Recovery Utility's onscreen instructions.
When prompted to insert another disc, do so according to the numerical labels on your recovery CDs (e.g., insert "Disc 2" after "Disc 1" and "Disc 3" after "Disc 2").

Your Thinkpad restarts when the restore process finishes. Power off your Thinkpad.

Hold down the "F1" key and power on your laptop to access the "IBM BIOS Setup Utility."

Select "Boot" or "Startup Sequence" and press "Enter."
Press "F9."

Select "Setup Defaults" from the menu and press "Enter" so that your Thinkpad no longer boots from the CD-ROM drive.

Press "F10" and select "Yes" to confirm your changes.
Your Thinkpad will restart and load your newly installed operating system.

How do i start my IBM ThinkPad R32 type 2658 with no password?

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Windows has a .dll boot-up problem, bios is inexecable, can only boot from hard drve and not from any other drive, need too reset bios or something. thanks

hi you can normally reset the bios by locating the on-board battery under the notebook, or by removing the keyboard if it is that model and remove the bios battery for a few seconds and that should clear any settings in the bios including the password to enter it, then replace the battery and re-boot the system , press either F2 or del to enter the bios while booting...hope this helps

Hello my ibm think pad r32 is when we give the restart comment tham windows going to shatting down but power not going off

The restart command does not power off your R32 but does a soft reboot of the r32, if you want to have a power down and physicaly power off and startup then you need to select shutdown and then turn the R32 back on manually. Cheers.

IBM THINKPAD R32 Tryin buttons to boot won't work?

Normally when as you bootup press F12 and you get a list of devices that you can select to boot up.
If the doesn't work go into the BIOS setup and go to the boot order configuration and set the CD as the first boot device. Later you can change it back if you wish.

My IBM thinkpad R32 takes more than 2 minutes to

Your system may have been attacked by virus. Or your memory is too small for the operating system you are using. If you were not having the problem initially, try scanning the system for Virus with a powerful antivirus software such as Norton. You may also save your important files, format the harddisk and reinstal all software. Better still, your restore the system to a date before problem started if you are using windows vista.

Won't start up

Hi there.
If the beep is a short beep then there is nothing wrong with the PC, just enter the bios utility, set the date and time, save the changes and exit the bios.
The computer will restart and should boot straight through to windows.
Please post back if you need anymore help or advice.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
